Although the argument might continue for days, it was clearly a great match of tennis. I would not stress on any one player or the other, but the quality that was on disply was stupendous; never thought I would get to see such high quality stuff during this year's Wimbledon! Both players had their chances and played to their full potential and well... somebody had to break at the end :) However, I would give a slight edge to Roddick, whose server was never broken till the winning one! Cheers to Federer and Roddick! Super game.
Roddick nearly outclassed great champion rogger federer, though rogger was not with his A game at centre court making so many unforced errors which we dont see quite often in his game. Roddick put his best foot forward in this game and i think he was the deserving player to win the title.
ranked in top 10 is a top plyr tennis is the most competitive sport coz of its profile and coz its an individual sport one feels sorry for andy roddick, he choked but played overall better than feddy i can only say that one is lucky to have had feddy and laver laver and fedex are champs tennis has a different history in the past-grand slams were not most important and hence plyrs like laver turned pro one salutes laver and feddy great champs.
we wud never know how great feddy is as he said himself by woahhh on Jul 02, 2009 12:08 PM Permalink | Hide replies
coz you cant compare opponents of the best players of their time and coz majors were not considered so important before rod laver missed 100s of majors coz of turning pro and contracted pro and was not allowed to play those days, all best plyrs turned pro laver has won a stagerring 199 singles titles plus any no of doubles and mixed doubles the great laver wud have won many more than his 11 singles majors he missed 21 in a row and more just before sweeping all in 69 and after sweeping all in 62 when he use to win every match he missed many in the 70s too he was a true legend people who saw him play at his peak or othrwise say its laver first and then daylight he is someone with most kind and humble words long live laver the champion likewise maragret court wud have won more than her record 24 singles majors anyway-shes the best ever i dont read posts i dont reply to

I m big fan of him, he deserves that, there is no comparison with player like Roger. pete has taken 12 years to grab 14 titles our hero has taken only six years, No doubt about his performance he has excellency accuracy perfection style power what more u can expect from a human but every time he prooves himself, last year was difficult for him, but still he overcomes n proved that he deserves to be no. 1, My best wishes to roger and his wife, whatever happens in future dont know but he is no. 1 for me, wil be always
Federer has all the ingredients what it really takes one to be a champion of the game. His composition, physical fitness levels, ability to withstand pressure and despair in the game. It is not with luck and chance alone did he win the 15 grand slam titles in his career. He is the living example of an icon of a game, a gem of a champion and an extra ordinary spirit of sportsmanship.
