Do u think Indian team is the best team...No they are average team just like our hockey team..only media and bcci are giving publicity to the game bcos of money involved...who many times did India win world cup...wht is the consistency of India winning tournaments...compare this with hockey..u will get the answer...Hockey team is better than cricket...this year they did not qualify for olympic....think wht happned to cricket team in last world cup...they were out from the qualifying round...but still they are heroes...and we bad mouth hockey players...agree the hockey admin is bad...to the right step is sack them..run hockey the same way as cricket...

stop blaming cricket for dismal performance in hockey its upto the hockey federation to take the game to rural areas which cricket has done succesfully

Guys, you need to understand that shahrukh doesnt give a damn about hockey. He is where the money is. we need people with passion to reform hockey and once the team starts performing you will see people like shahrukh pick the hockey stick agian.

I think the players are not to be blamed because now in india money and power is important ,let that come to hockey then u see every raja, mantri, baniya will run towards hockey. jai hind

Not just hockey boss...we are poor in all other sports, because due to our upbringing and infrastrucure and diet we are not athletic people, beefore asto turf came into picture skill was all that was required in hockey but now continious fast running for 70 minutes are required all along the game, here we will not be able to match players from other nations cozz of infrastructure and diet & environment...cricket since still is based on skills a bit that is why we are still in the fore running but then so few nations play it that we will always be in top 5 and feel happy, tennis, till the time we had leander paes & bhupati they won some mixed grand slams, and after them i dont see anyone coming up ...problem is tennis is getting younger, here if a player reaches in top 30 list at the age of 21 we say she is learning....come one this is the peak performance age for tennis, people win grandslams at 16, 18, 20 yrs of age & not keep learning till 22-24 yrs of age, for other sports less said the better, we dont even get some bronze medals in olympics..forget about gold...basically our sports infrastructure from roots is in very poor shape..and parents are non supoortive..i rememeber the saying that I used to here when i was a kid " padhoge likhoge banoge nawaab, kheloge kudoge banoge kharab"...if this is what is prevalent in our society, do u ever wonder we will be good in sports? We are a lost case
Indian Hockey is gone for ever because of unpopularity among public. Instead of cricket Govt. must encourage children to take Hockey compulsorily along with football. Anyone of it may also be allowed.Cash awards may be given like bank loans and I am sure it will come up quickly.
