Dont Miss Wrestling (Another Indian medal hope)

Yes. Tomm. live 7 am onwards on DD sports.

Qualification round of Olympics Wrestling Freestyle (120 kg cat.) :

RAJIV TOMER (Ind) Vs. MOCCO STEVE (USA)

There is a lot of hopes on Rajiv from coach and Indian Wrestling support team and he is said to be a medal prospect like Sushil Kumar but in a different weight category. Rajiv has been training very very hard for this Olympics and is said to be an excellent wrestler with potential to win a medal.

Lets hope todays great Olympic performances from his 2 compatriots (esp. the Bronze from Wrestler Sushil) inspires RAJIV to pocket another medal possibly a GOLD for INDIA..the 4th. Wouldn't that be a great way for India to finish off the games along with a DOUBLE (Gold) from boxer Vijender too.

Imagine if both Rajiv & Vijender win Golds. That means India will win 3 Golds. ATLEAST LET US DREAM GOLD. Who knows !! Dreams sometimes become realities like in the case of Abhinav who dreamt BIG & achieved BIG.

Beijing.... One World One Dream.

So Lets all pray for our MEDAL hope tommorow RAJIV TOMER. Come on Pahelwaan ...Chalay Chalo ! Apni Jeet ho !! Unki Haar haan !! CHAK DE yaar. Jai Hind

It indeed is a matter of great pride that for the first time ever in the history of 'Olympics' India has Bagged Three Medals, and that too all in Individual championship events. A great PHILLIP indeed for all our sportspersons and sportslovers BUT ALAS if this is our BEST olympics till date this is also our WORST Olympics (With due respect and sincere apologies to the winning Individuals and all sportslovers) till date - For the first time in Olympic History the very(HOCKEY) team that gave us so many GOLDS and kept our Nations Flag High could not even qualify to play in the Olympics!! - The happiest moments in the saddest of times - Like a Marriage in the Family and the Head of the Family unable to attend the wedding!! - Something for all of us to ponder about and interrospect within ourselves.

Request : Please dont just type some word which you just heard somewhere without learning its spelling and meaning first. You said PHILLIP. Thats somebody's name just like yours Anand.

The right word is FILLIP.
Ex. His win gave a fillip to India's medal hopes.

One Sports Country

If we dont wanna be a one Sports Country we shud support other games and Sports too. Otherwise we will be nowhere in the field of sports. A Cricketer earning crores of rupees a year in India shud always be winning but see our track record ...we and the media makes such a hue and cry when we beat Bangladesh or Srilanka ....as ir we have won the world. There are only 10 real cricket playing nations that too are british colonial ... we therefore support other sports too

In Olympics Boxing has 1 Gold , 1 silver and 2 Bronze for every category
by prasanna bhat on Aug 20, 2008 11:27 PM

THIS IS OFFICIAL NEWS

Like other Olympic combat sports, two bronze medals are awarded; in the case of boxing, both losing semi-finalists receive a bronze medal, with no further play-off. As a result, the quarter-final essentially equates to a bronze medal match, a semi-final to a silver medal match, and the final to a gold medal match.
There are 11 categories in BEJING OLYMPICS -
44 medals are therefore available,11 Gold, 11 silver & 22 bronze medals.
