he is now an american rather than Indian. So there is nothing to boost about. Also we indians feel proud to say that many of our indians are working in higher positions in USA at Academic institutions/Universities, Industries , NASA etc. If they are working there in USA then we should not feel proud about them just boosting about their success . All these so called indians have left their motherland and adopted USA as their destination. So it is our folly to boost about their success as they will never nor like to return to their motherland.

Governemt should think seriouse towards olympic medals
by CaptJackSparrow on Aug 12, 2008 05:53 PM

Government should stop to spend money on religiouse activity to improve its vote bank policy. Money spends on subisdiary should invest in sports. So we can have some gold medal rush in olympics. Government should atleast increase his olympic budget 4 time more than current one. This can easily achieved by diverting relgiouse fund in olympic fund.

CONGRATULATION MR. RAJ BHAVSAR FOR WINNING A BRONZE MEDAL IN THE OLYMPICS.
by suchet bal on Aug 12, 2008 05:42 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. Raj Bhavsar shows that with US training and diet a person of Indian origin can also excel at the Olympics even in tough sports like Gymnastics. He should now be a role model hero for our Indian gymnasts who should aim to get a Sports scholarship to study in US universities and train there to get selected for next Olympics to represent India and win an Olympic medals for India.

Very sensible remark.

U r correct indian government should sent our gymnestitian to US for further training, winning olympic medal is more about facility, if you have full resources than only you can win medal. We have seen same in abhinav case.

Everyone is related to everyone anyways...
by Nana on Aug 12, 2008 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

Our common ancestors are apes anyways, so in one way or another, we all are related to one another..so lets enjoy the sport and the colors and forget these discussions on nationalities, color, race etc....

I think each record broken in the Olympics is a sense of pride of the human race and in a way challenges the expert opinions on limitations of the human body and mind....

"In a perfect world, Raj Bhavsar should have won an Olympic medal for India" - If he would have been in India, perhaps a gobar medal would have been farce.

INDIAN OLYMPICS

INDIAN OLYMPICS
By our cricket correspondent
Association of Olympics (IAO)recommended the following new sports items which are coming naturally to Indians to be included in forthcoming Olympics so that India can win some gold medals.

Standing: Standing comes naturally to Indians and most sportsmen. Participants in it can practice throughout the year by merely waiting in queues. For the actual occasion, when the gun goes off at the starting line, sportsmen will stand and wait and wait. The winner will inevitably be an Indian.
Team Spitting Event: A relay race where contestants are asked to spit in any part of a public building except in the spittoon.
Red Light Jump: Instead of the long or high jump, atheletes will have to wait in vehicles at street junctions and asked to jump the stop light.
Waterless Polo: As a prelude to the summer Olympics, and the lack of water in summer, the committee proposed that swimmers contest a waterless polo event, thereby also reducing their chances of contracting water-borne disease.
Caste Relay Race: A 400-meter relay race in which the four national castes are represented along with other sub-castes and sub-subcastes.
Public Urination: The Olympic Committee decided to elevate public urination to the level of competitive sport.
Bribery: Archery in which India secured a miserable 84th position at Dhaka will be replaced by bribery, in which India will undoubtedly manage a much better one in the forthcoming Bhopal Olympics

BEEFY RAJ!
by Kabeer on Aug 12, 2008 05:11 PM  | Hide replies

Looks like this American Boy won largely because of the muscle built-up from the all American BEEF and Ham burgers!

His parents have changed their first names to BOB & SUE!

Very likely this boy must have been eating beef and pork which he would not have eaten had he been in India. If you dont have muscle what gymnastics you can perform?

PM Manmohan SIngh will confer on Raj PADMA VIBHUSHAN like he did to Sunita Williams!

great thoughts...it is because of thinking like yours that 1.2 billion people collectively win one medal after a agap of 28 years..

always finding something or someone to blame.. this time it was poor beef and pork...
