I feel that sports should be nurtured from childhood. But unfortunately the education system of India is such that we encourage children to study, study & more study. Yes, studies are important but so is sports. A relative of mine wanted to take up cricket as a career. But unfortunately his parents could understand only medical, engineering & MBA as a career. They forced him so much to study that he flunked his 12th class science, took up arts subsequently, did not complete his graduation, did a diploma in catering, worked as a chef in a hotel for a brief time, joined a reputed bank in sales & currently is working in BPO division of another reputed bank as a call centre executive. I tried to reason with the parents but I got a royal snub from them. This is how we ruin our children's chances, careers & life as well.
This is what we are the best at...Renaming AIRPORTS,UNIVERSITIES,ROADS,CITIES....TO...Indira,Rajiv,Mahatma,Ambedkar,THE GREAT CHATRAPATI SHIVAJI........we will not participate in the games till we get our due.....RENMAE the Commonwealth Games
Since there is lot of public demand to have gold medals to get by India in OLYMPIC, UPA will do barter system i.e. get gold medals from china and give eastern part of India!!!!!!!!!!!
Singh is emerged as a real King of barter system with his dude Amarsingh, Mulayam, lalu......the gold medal for the manipulation of numbers goes to MMS for 2008 Olympic....
Even if there is talent, the infrastructure is very poor to harness and nurture the talent, the facilities provided to sportspersons are pathetic...corrupt government is handing over all the empty spaces to greedy builders...except for cricket and upto some extent tennis, there is no future for other sporting activites in India...
It will be very diffcult for India to win a medal and if they win at all it will not be more than 1... sad in a country of 1 billion, there is not one person who can bring glory to India at the Olympics
India will win a DIAMOND medal in begging, corruption, scams, littering the streets, making no. 1 and 2 on the streets...

To get the first Gold medal in any Olympics is an incredible feeling and it's historical. Am not comparing but just wondering will I ever live to witness that great moment happening to an Indian? What you guys feel?

DEAR MANOJ KRISHNAMACHAR INDIANS ARE SO HOOKED TO CRICKET THAT TALENT IS NOT ATTRACTED TO OLYMPIAN DISCIPLINES LIKE ATHLETICS,SWIMMING,SHOOTING ETC..JUST AS DRUG ADDICTS LIKE DRUGS, INDIANS LIKE CRICKET. WE WILL NEVER MAKE IT BIG IN OLYMPICS, TILL WE ARE SATISFIED WITH BEING SO CALLED "WORLD CHAMPIONS"IN CRICKET.
