May Anil Win!!!
by Vimalesh Singh on Aug 04, 2008 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

Although Anil is a businessman and he may take 1 or 2 extremely talented Indian players to play for his team and give him exposure which will be good for Indian football.
It is very important to know that only Baichung Bhutia got a chance to play for a B-Grade English football club and thats for only 1 month on a trial basis!!!
So it will be a biggest opportunity for any Indian football player to play for a Premier English football club which will give tremendous boost to Indian Football!!

Anil Ambani, could have done better with his money and used it for Indian Sports.

Sports lovers, Just ask yourself whether India has: Proper infrastructure to provide a platform to talented sports player? A strong organized local leagues matches, like other developed countries?

Me and my friends quit our jobs, to try to pump up Indian sports(not just cricket): We are launching IndiaKhelo.com, which will create local sports leagues all over India and help us find talented players from each corner of India.

Currently we are looking for partners (people who are equally passionate about Indian sports as we are) from all over India. If anyone finds it interesting, please do visit IndiaKhelo.com

Suggestion : In case you have not tried this. I feel you should approach corporate houses like Anil Ambani or Tatas to contribute to this effors. It definitely looks like an interesting idea,,but i suppose there is lot of groundwork that needs to be done to make this successful

there was a time when India was undisputed champion of Hockey. It has produced great players in Snooker, Billiard, Chess even for that matter we had good Badminton players. Few among the current lot are doing good in Golf. Don't forget that Mahesh Bhupati has won 4 grand slam titles though not in singles.

And BTW.. kabbadi is played by south asian countries including bangladesh and pakistan who have extremely talented players. but you might think of games like basketball which only americans play but they are able generate/associate lot of glamour (or say glamor) to that sport and we think these are the REAL SPORTS. if we try to emulate what they play then its like "kauua chle hans ki chal..."

BRAND INDIA-Fortifying
by rahul menon on Aug 04, 2008 10:03 AM

I personally feel that..the take overs or acts similar to this is gud to uplift the brand Image of India. Its always good to be perceived as a nation of strong economy than a country of millions of poor people. At the same time , the needs and requirements of economically lower class people also should be addressed. After TATA's (corus ,Jacquar) & Mittal's arcelor take overs hope its anil ambanis turn to make India Proud. So all the best for Anil Ambani in this novel ven

These ambani brothers (specially this younger one ) are Selfish and mad for money only. They have forgotten what their father had done to built this business. accourding to the reports anil is the 6th riches man in the world. how it could be? In the income tax payers he is nowhere, not in top 10 not in top 20 not in top 100 even he is out of top 200. how he could be 6th richest man of the world. they are cheaters and thief who are cheating indians and even the country by not paying exact amount of their tax. It's very shameful.

Reliance is not fool but selfish. They will not take this burden on to themselves. They will execute an agreement in which they will not suffer even a rupee but gain all the money, honey. They are making millions in delhi BSES in which all the expenses are forwarded to government and profit to themselves. in the same way they will cheat ICICI also. So you dont bother about those cheaters think about yourself how you can save yourself from these big shark fishes who are expanding their wings and opening their mouth uptil their heads. be careful.

this guy probably wants uk citizenship. Let's understand an Indian who's existence is because of India wants to buy a uk club? Some say business, Some say love of game. I say some media exposure in uk and selfish reasons.

Dhirubhai's atma must be rolling in pain, to see his 2 sons and 2 richest people on earth fighting like 2 stupid brothers in a backward village.

REMEMBER...when the British used to own the Indian sub-continent.....its time now for the reverse to happen & signs of it can be see with an Indian on his way to own a Premier League team.
As for the business versus patriotism part, lets all agree that Anil Ambani is clearly into this for the sake of business. But always remember that this will only make the entire league to make note of India's presence (Chelsea, ManU trying to enter Indian markets..). Moreover it can never hurt if u have a known face in a place which was rather inaccessible couple of years back. So for all those cribbers of patriotism, take this as the next big thing for corporate India and let Indian football develop enough to be a part of such big clubs.

If he would invest in India, he would have to hire Gujjus Punjabis Marathis Bengalis and Biharis to play, coach, clean and train his team. How is that cool?

Its way cooler hiring white guys and chicks as cheerleaders, dont you think?
