The Olympics and the spirit
by rana ganguly on Apr 07, 2008 10:49 PM

Hi all
Olympics says "For Humanity". And himanity is lost in tibet let alone human rights. The chinese Govt targets to settle 10 million non tibetians in Tibet. Well not a very good way to keep the olympic spirit running.
A communist Govt will have a set of top officials running a country or state. This gives absolute power to the set of Governing people. "ABOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY". This was true for Chauseque of romania who bathed in a gold bathtub while his nation starved.
People cannot be restrained. They need very liitle. Just Freedom. Something we indians take for granted. I from the bottom of my heart support the people of Tibet who are doing what we have done 60 years back to free our nation.
If we can give Yasser Arafat the bharat ratna for the palestine cause (which is totally defunct and a terrorist cause now) we can also give Dalai Lama and the people of Tibet a chance of democracy

Cheers
Rana

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Communism, a lofty ideal, has been reduced to such a low level to sustain the sustain strangle hold of a few politicians.

cant blame him fully. i think he's just complying now for future bargain. we dont gain too much by our opposing. its a clever move. only thing we just have to use the opportunity. besides when the entire west is out to get them, we might as well sit back and relax :P

Everything else is secondary.

Indian congress govt. is still acting like nehru of 1962 and trying to appease China.

well, I appreciate your positive thinking..but, unfortunately, the brainless UPA government with the boneless support of the commies cannot think any positive thinking like that..This is an opportunist government doing all the wrong things to stick in to the chair for the full term.

why blame congress... can we all (non-congress!?) take a vow to boycott chinese products, including chinese refreshments, foods, and chinese restaurants...in every aspect, reject china/chinese?
support cannot be only through speach, it has to be converted in to action to fructify.

the chinese lack of reason and respect for their own citizens
by raj on Apr 07, 2008 10:28 PM

all of this trouble in china and aroudn the world is because of one single reason:
the chinese lack of reason and respect for their own citizens, no freedom of speech, no freedom of expression, no press freedom, policing every aspect of citizens lives, no internet freedom, etc etc.

NEVER in the history have so many people across the world opined for a particular minority - all for one reason - lack of reason by the chinese - all the chinese authorities had to do was to engage with the dalai lama - THATS IT.

but no instead they act stupid and they know only one method, bulldoze, murder, smash through swathes of people.

because, they have only ordered people to live according to what they say. they have NEVER heard the people. thier OWN people!
