How long these guys will act and maintain the artificial status.

you shud know false encounters made by Indian police. culprits of 84 riots and gujrat riots are still walking free. though these things happened in full public view but courts are still not able to even find the culprits not to talk about punishing the guilty.

Dalai Lama was Advised ...
by Nimesh Dikshit on Apr 08, 2008 06:01 AM  | Hide replies

Dalai Lama was advised by The Mother from Pondicherry Ashram - to take Tibet by force - using American Help. Sri Aurobindo - had written in 1950 before he left his physical body how and why should India help in Freeing Tibet. And for that what was necessary is to friends with USA and take their help. Instead - Dalai Lama asked tibetian Guerrilas to surrnder peacefully. This has been forcasted - After Tibet China will take over Nepal and then India. Olympics may or may not be the right forum - but this may be a good start. India should refuse the tourch baring in India and stand by Tibet. In anycase, as far as Olympics are concerned why does india have to loose. 1 bronze medal - that too if we are lucky?
If India wants to save its own teritory - then it must help contain China and the TIME IS NOW. US wants India as much As INDIA wants US. Iron is HOT - Hit it!!!

Politics inevitable
by anirban paul on Apr 08, 2008 04:56 AM  | Hide replies

It is inevitable that politics and sports should mix. Olympics anyway is a space where nations states try to score points. And sports in a multi billion dollar industry. If other industries are involved in ploitical processes and WTO discussions, why not sports?

Bhaichun Bhatia is the only Indian celebrity who understands that China is trying to use the Olympics to score points and gain legitimacy even for its nefarious designs in Tibet. Other Indians "celebrities" are either not smart enough or do not have the backbone to say no to the tainted Chinese state. Perhaps, both. Or may be their sponsors push them to run in the torcg relay for a few additional footages of publicity and a few more lakhs for the sportspersons - I mean Sachin Tendulkar. India itself boycotted Davis Cup Final once, then davis Cup match against Israel for vote banks. Now, it's tom tomming sports not-to-be-mixed- with-politics line. This is ridiculous. It's even more saddening that India is supporting a state like China which illegally occupies its own land, unlike South Africa or Israel. Indian Olympic-torch relay runners should be given wheel chairs ( as they do not have backbones) before they are given the torch.

Olympics should be in Greece
by Sharath Shivashankar on Apr 08, 2008 04:06 AM  | Hide replies

This is getting too political. The Olympic committee should give the games back to Greece. They are the ones who invented it. Every Olympics from now on should be held in Greece. They deserve it.

Politics and games should be kept seperate
by Sarita Sharma on Apr 08, 2008 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

By hurting the spirit of game they will not achieve anything and Tibetans are in fact hurting themselves. Selfish third parties will in the end join hands with China for the sake of business and profits.

spirit of the game was already destroyed when China was given the right to olympics, despite its poor record when it comes to crushing humanity!! It's an evil state. We indians have suffered many times from this evil state. Anyways why should we care about olympics, as if we are going to win 100s of gold medal. Even the hockey team has failed to qualify for the olympics. By boycotting olympics atleast we get some pride. Good job France by dousing the bloody olympic flame, Sarkozy world is proud of u for standing to protect humanity.

why should one separate games from politics.
if it serves to send a message for common good it is worthwhile.
