Vishwanathan Anand made silent progress over last two decades. The sheer consistency with which he has played, his discipline, his conduct are all commendable. Well done, you have made our country proud. He needs more recognition in our country. It is a reflection on the state of affairs of sports in our country that apart from cricket every world class achiever gets literally no recognition from the Government. This apathy from the government and the media has forced players like him to settle down in other countries which respect and reward talent and brain. On a broader sense, it is time we as a country learn to treat talented people with some respect. Until we clean up corruption from every walk of indian life, whatever progress our country makes, it will not translate to the most needy.
Great show Anand.Every Indian except for most of the politicians is proud of you. Please dont consider the invitation of any politician's falicitation function garlends etc.Idiots will ask you to sit behind and they will hog the limelight on the stage with long unmeaningfull bhashans.Congrats once again Anand.

you should give da most reward to dis guy annandd, instaed of giving all dey money & gifts to dem imitation booollywood muhfuggas & charrukkh kann and da lazy crikket guyz.....whom no one recognizes around da world.
da crikket iz dey lazy mans game played by only 12 countries for selling tv advertisements & everyone laughs at da boooollywood..
dis guy annandd is da UNDISPUTED No.1 in da world nwo.
all dey newzpapers in america, europe, asia, south america & africa are carrying front page articles about da new unified undisputed FIDE chess champion annandd.
i think living abroad has been the best thing for a player of his stature n for his career... spain n other countries have recognised n rewarded him a lot more.. than if were in india.. cause ultimately for a sports person respect matters more than anythng else for what u do cause ur doing it for ur country.. n if u dont' get ur due.. it's pointless... it's such a shame.. that other sportsmen in india have to beg and demand respect n reco.. n continue playing after swallowing their pride..
Congrats on you winning the World Title for the second Year. At least now the Govt Of India will deem you fit enough to receive a Padma Vibhushan or even a Bharatha Rathna. One guy who keeps winning with out any fuss or with out any help from the Govt be it State or Central.Just a 20/20 world cup made a huge hue and cry in this country let us see the reception you receive and the attention Media gives you. I am waiting. But from my side all the best we are proud of your great achievements. Keep it up and keep the countrys flag flying high.God bless you.

our govt recognize only cricket persons man.Humpi, hari won many titles, but the govt doesnt recognize his/her performances. Our politicians die like sachin or sourav
What a consistent performance! He's real, outstanding and all time superstar. He's been cont.performing since many years without any big failure. Such a wonderful performance couldn't be compared with any Indian Cricket player(Sachin,Saurav? hmmmmmmmm). All The Best to All Time Superstar of India,Anand is Great.
Cricket has mass appeal. Hence the whole of India celebrated last week. Chess is a more elitist game. Vishy's win will hardly get noticed in India. Nevertheless, his achievement is nothing less when compared to any world championship truimph. And I am sure he ll not go on any fast to demand recognition and incentives :-)

Chess is played in different forms under the shades of trees in rural India for a long time. We failed to recognize the game started in India. We appreciate the game that had been brought by invaders.
