When Rediff journalists were asked to write the 12th standard boards in English, they failed. So, they were hired by Rediff. Even the tabloids avoided them.
It's spelled "past", not "passed" in case you missed it.

I am a south indian from Chennai and would like to clearly state that whoever wrote this insensitve piece about north indians does not represent me. Para Mesh needs to watch chak de india. We are all indians first. Sporstmen hail from all parts of India and have represented us in every form in the remotest part of the world. To all those who are offended by Para Mesh, a sincerely apology from another south indian and a strong advice to simply ignore his comments.

Para Mesh, You making such a meaningless generalization of north indians speaks volumes about your ignorance. We southies have our own share of unruly people. No one is perfect. We all should have a little respect and tolerance towards each other. Peace....

Para Mesh have you heard of Chess players like Parimarjan Negi and Tania Sachdev ? Just check where they hail from and what they have achieved. And Tania is so good looking she is the Sania Mirza of Indian Chess

A very interesting chain bordering on being downright amusing. Instead of condemning the unruly behavior this forum is more focussed in regional factionalism instead of celebrating a true INDIAN champion and being proud of indianness. Classical proof of difference between EDUCATED and LITERATE. I guess this forum is full of LITERATES. Shame on us!

what has north india got to do with bad culture? isn't it part of India? don't get into regionalism, buddy. be proud of being an Indian and its heroes. and rascals who mobbed Vishy are everywhere.

what abt this my part and your part?are we neighbors living in the same country?you might be trying to do something good here, but whats good in dividing the country...you already made anand an alien to half the population of this country but calling him yours but not mine. the burden of evil wont just go by passing it to on someone elses shoulder but attacking ti as your own problem and joining hands in taking it out. Just for starts, can we as the so-called "educated people" stop diving ourselves any further. For me and i hope for most of us, we belong to India and not to chennai, delhi, mumbai or lucknow. Again for me as an Indian,we are capable of producing champions like Anand.

Firstly, i am south indian myself and i totally disagree with these kind of stupid statements.. it will serve India better without mentalities like Mr.Para Mesh.. guys dont write /respond to these comments.. if these guys are not blessed with enough grey cells,, atleast we can show them..
Congrats V.Anand,, Congrats INDIA..(I MEAN THE WHOLE OF IT,, )

I am an Indian from South. Perhaps you have not seen the unruly behaviour of TN minister including the CM. It was at his instance Dorai murugan (a hooligan MLA) started pulling Jayalalitha's saree. Our TN is full of donkeys like this.

I kind of loved the way you described yourself "An Indian from South"..it puts so much emphasis of you being an Indian rather then "South Indian" or "North Indian",which have almost become a more divided and racial terms. I guess if each one of us stop using those terms and use something more generalized ....like Indians, we definitely would move one step forward and do some good to the country then going backwards. Just a thought.

Generalising this for the entire region may be in itself very very horrible... thank god i m not part of the so called south brigade where for every action there is somebody like sree santh speaks nonsense... some body like karuna nidhi questions the existence of Ram... n somebody like deve gowda who dunn match there words.... i m happy being a north indian.. who is the real indian...

its not rediff. rediff just fwd news frm TOI. its Times of India (or TOIlet paper) who put tons of questions to anand related to T20 welcome on anand's winning WC... these questions were fully irrelevant.. and for one question anand humourously replied lets see how public treat me.. this was very casual reply.. media people as usual did the cheap sensalization of his words...
they have no idea abt the sence of humour of anand...

well i dint read it from TOI n got my bits n pieces from rediff, so i mentioned and I'm glad you pointed that out to me,but it then makes the whole situation even worse. One media outlet reports something wrong n makes it controversial n the other news media including rediff, instead of correcting them, use it for even their advantage. Its like a thief instead of being caught is being supported by another thief..anyways i know its not that big an issue but the point i wanted to mention was that we already got enough problems to sort out in our country n media instead of helping the people in empowering them with good n relevant information , too looks out for its own profits. They would go on showing us how they caught a politician with a girl( to get a good TRP) but they wont come forward n report the corruption that is rampant in our everyday life, they wont run the biodatas of politicians during election,to let the us know who these people really are. But they might do this after he/she is in power ,to let people feel more miserable.anyway someone just said to me in this forum, I might be a muslim, to raise such an issue...if that is so,then kudos to the all muslims but then I think we as hindu's are doing the least for the country by not raising the right issues.
its true, indian media is curse for nation. they r biased, and shows no responsibilities towards nation. even diff media support different political parties too...

Fool! It is not copied. PTI is the source for both the reports (TOI & Rediff)

oh really?? haha.. everyone knows that... nothing new in it... the point is, diff media shud do their own analysis before posting a news of this level or status...
