Cricket is popular b'cause lot of people participation..not in chess
by D S on Oct 15, 2007 01:24 PM  | Hide replies

During more peaceful times of Golden Age, almost every hoursehold of king's durbar played chess (Shatran) within India.
Someone said
" most unhygenic, uncouth, uncultured and uncivilised people of the world.
"
Our leadership, our laws and Indian's negligence to other people's misery to work our some bigger solution that give them some pocket change is responsible for all. We don't have "minimal standard of living policy" enforced by Government & people. We just don't care, Americans ensure that Indians working there don't earn below minimal wage otherwise their standard of living is under threat:
"
Do you know that people defecate on the roads of Mumbai Its our commercial capital, like Shanghai is to China New York to USA.

I have been to poor countries people are more clean and civilised in Cambodia/Laos/Papua New Guinea.
Mera Bharat Mahaan
"
Due this Caste vote politics that cleanling the nation is below someone, we keep our nation dirty. Infact, professional plan to keep cities clean within the West.

Clarify:
Our leadership, our laws and Indian's negligence to other people's misery. We need to work out some bigger solution instead of giving poor Indians some pocket change is responsible for all this mess. A minimal living standard for everyone should be in place BY LAW & by Financial backing.

Reception of Anand
by Rajan Thimmannabhat Sodankur on Oct 15, 2007 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

Don't you mind dear Anand, about the reception at all. It is enough that you the hearts and command the respect of thousands of Indians who appreaciate real personal and group achivements. You have won the top position by facing real intellectual challenges, and not the political awards which come through lobbying and political loyalties, and not the cups won through match fixing, and not the Doctor titles from universities too willing to give them for political influence or by public voting through media which value games of mass hysteria more than the sacrifices of military or social reformers falling victims to terrorists and fanatics. You made us proud as fellow Indian. We apprecaite your simple unassuming personality, charming smile, and non-scandalous image.Keep them up.May you win many more such laurels.

he never expect anything.. he is happy with the welcome and his life.. its all media who is trying to create some non-sence news...

media asked 10-15 questions to anand related to T20 welcome on his winning the WC... which was fully irrelevant.. on one question he said humourously that lets see how public react... but useless indian media got a senstence to sensalize..

anand is far above of all such stupid things by media...

but i wud like this time anand to backlash indian media.. no media person had asked such a foolish questions to anand as indian media did...

see ibn-live news rather than rediff bakwaas:

The T20 Cricket Champions were given a rousy welcome. Its true. However, they returned home immediately after the tournament and the public mind was fresh from the victory.

Unfortunately, Vishy, The greatest Chess player in the world now, delayed his arrival in India a bit too far, due to his other commitments. Had he came here immediately after the Chess Championship was conquered AGAIN by him, the welcome ceremony would have been altogether different.

Do not talk trash! You clearly have no idea whatsoever about what you are saying, Mr. Vasudevan. Please THINK and THEN TALK!!!And as far as our "so-called World Champions" are concerned, look what happened after winning the T20 World Cup - Team Australia has thrashed us in the one-dayers, that too at home! And you have guys like Sreesanth who keep on "barking" without backing it up by performance! Anand deserved a much better and more dignified reception than what he got and it is sad that it had to be like this!

Is Anand an Indian any more, he Stays in Spain with his wife, he is just visiting India to complete his sponsors comitments and visit his parents. Let him base himself in India first, he himself has run away, why should he expect same reception as the cricketers(i m not vouching for cricketers here).

half knowledge is always harmful... (as in ur case)

anand stay in spain bcoz thr is more scope than india.. its not easy for anand to regularly fly betw indiia and european nations for matches...

also, thr is gr8 role of spain govt, media and public for anand to reach this position...

even then, spain govt offered him their citizenship several times, but he refused.. that shows his love for india.. whereever he play.. the flag and name of india is there... thus he is the proud son of both spain and india...

first we need to make india a better place, and then only we can raise such questions... india is an un-sportive nation.. its a bitter truth..

Very rightly said. India media is not independent. They are agents of some powers that be. They will only sensationalise silly news items, showing it again and again. They do nothing good for the country but they comment on every thing as if they are the watchdogs.

u sound as if he wanted all these. My friend, the media knows how to create sensation. First they ask a question and when the person(celebrity) answers it, they put the answer in the headlines, they don't mention what question he was posed and to what he responded and that too truncating most his statements and put only that part which causes confusion/sensation. and we people foolishly misintrepret the person.

dear hari puttar, chess is a game for intelligent humans and not for cattle that play and watch cricket. Anand is the world champion of chess which is played in more than 120 countries. Even if you don't have the ability to understand the game, at least feel pride in an Indian becoming world champions.

I guess your opinion is that any set of people who land up to greet/honour a person who has made a significant achievemnt are "paid" to do so. So how much, my friend, was the going rate for the people who turned up for Anand or for the T20 winning Indian cricket team? Just a question, when did you last stand up to applaud for someone? Let me put it in another way, when did you last get applauded for something? In that case, how much had you paid to receive that applause?
