India whining
by Hari Puttar on Oct 15, 2007 02:33 PM  | Hide replies

True. Burma and Somalia I bet are cleaner than India. India has ridiculous disparity in growth and cleanliness. So much disparity that it almost seems false and like a fairy tale. Like for example, Intel, Honeywell, Google offices awash with mirrors and granite, and what do u find just outside? LOL! Pot-hole ridden, drain water overflowing roads. And on these roeads, u find a BMW and a Mercedes. Pathetic! And we Indians see the Merc, Intel, BMW, etc, and call India shining! LOL! It is India whining, not India shining! And we talk of Vaimanika Shastra and empty things like that and fart and boast all the time. We are amongst the most hypocritical nation in the world.

quite right hari. what india shining, go around the world and you will find that india is the WORST PLACE TO LIVE IN. i haven't been to africa though, but i guess most parts of africa would be better. as a matter of fact, think, what do we produce which we can sell to the world; nothing. maybe we can send sweepers and drivers to malaysia, gulf and europe. zero in manufacturing; caters only for domestic market. saving grace is software engineers who we can send to europe and USA. but most are existing only be cause of cost factors and not because of quality.

That's not my job. Why should I offer solutions? It is the job of the Administrators. My job is to be a tax-paying, law-abiding citizen. And I do my job extremely well.

Solution lies within ourselves dear. How many times we have protested for bad roads, gutters, negligance towards civic situation in our life?Had it been pro or anti demostration for reservation, people will come out on road! How many times we actually go and vote against the sitting MLA,MP or representative of our area for bad situation. How many times we protest when we see somebody paying bribe and official accepting the same to do undue favor. It is the Bribe giver who is more guilty that bribe taker!

What do you think? People will flock in hordes like Vish Anand is Elvis Presley? LOL! Of course, people have to be paid to pretend! More than half of them don't know him from Adam I bet! Give Indians one chicken biriyani and a 'quarter' Old Monk rum, they'll come and chant for you anything, anywhere, anytime. No wonder we have killer politicians elected and exalted in India.

he never expect anything.. he is happy with the welcome and his life.. its all media who is trying to create some non-sence news...

media asked 10-15 questions to anand related to T20 welcome on his winning the WC... which was fully irrelevant.. on one question he said humourously that lets see how public react... but useless indian media got a senstence to sensalize..

anand is far above of all such stupid things by media...

but i wud like this time anand to backlash indian media.. no media person had asked such a foolish questions to anand as indian media did...

see ibn-live news rather than rediff bakwaas:

and i think this entire controversy related to his welcome was started by rediff itself,i remember the day this report was published on rediff, the headline was something like anand challenges people on how they receive him,n that entire news article was actually done by a rediff journalist...so here we go,rediff tops in making controversies.

Mr Hari Puttar;
That's one spot-on I've ever read on Rediff.
"Give Indians one chicken biriyani and a 'quarter' Old Monk rum, they'll come and chant for you anything, anywhere, anytime. No wonder we have killer politicians elected and exalted in India," is what you say.
and youcan't bemore right !
Alas! for the meandering ways of 'Mera Bharat Mahaan !"

Anand

Anand is simple unassuming person with a sense of humour. The media reporters mostly young ones do not know Anand neither chess. When asked such stupid questions he brushes with a dash of humour. He does not speak big things like the cricketers and other media savy people. He achieves big and remains simple and talks like any other ordinary person. His humour cannot be misinterpreted. Talk to him about chess , yes he has plenty to say. India instead of celebrating his achievement has fallen low in talking so many things. The media has achieved in this, they can make a person like Sreesanth a king, and bring down the real 'KING'.

by Srinivas on Oct 15, 2007 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

Indian press photographers and media are nothing but hooligans hounding everyone without order for photograph.
It is jungle raj in India and press is no different. maybe its just in our culture. to be cultureless.

Very much true!Nowhere else in the world you will find the media and photographers behave in such chaotic manner. It is time something is done by some responsible people!May be a code of behaviour should be brought out and publicised.

Confusion reigns!
by shiva on Oct 15, 2007 02:10 PM  | Hide replies

This is typical of us.

If we host Olympics, the shit will hit the high heavens! We are only good at adding numbers to viewers and being participants to events! We are reeking of indiscipline. One look at our parliament will be enough to show our great culture.

We still have a long long way to go!

Maybe we should host the olympics if only to give it a completely "new" look!

Intersting article does not talk of role of Media
by Mystic on Oct 15, 2007 02:06 PM

It is intersting to note this article does not emphasize the role of media in creating unruly scenes. Quality of news content is anyways getting worse by the day.. not to mention the indisciplined, over the top and often biased behaviour of the media.
