Nothing is unfair in love, war and politics!!! ...because political interests prevail over national interests for many...
with platitudes on security, secrecy, military readiness, enemies power, etc, and all the while remaining silent about the chief question - the very obvious shadiness of the 2015 Rafale deal, the writer hopes to make readers forget about the latter !
Its wrong to say pricing details of imports related to security of the nation needs to be a secret..The enemy has thousand and one ways to get the info that he wants.Arms, ammo, designs, weaponry, supplies, strategy, men, vehicles, terrain, equipments, etc are all useful info that the external enemy needs at times of war to strategise their plan. There are internal enemies too that attack our forces like in Kashmir and Naxalite infested areas. This argument then means the tax payer whose money is used to purchase weapons, aircraft, ammo, and maintain our forces, this tax payer will never know what is the state of preparedness of our forces. Every Parliamentarian takes an oath of secrecy and represents the citizen tax payer. If parliamentarians r not trustworthy & is not allowed access to these details, then parliament should also not have access to details of internal security threats like terrorists, maoists, mafia, etc. If armed forces/police forces/CRPF etc are to be autonomous bodies not supervised by secrecy oath taken parliamentarians for corruption, which is equally important, then will we hold unelected beaurocrats responsible in case of failures in war,etc..Each dept has internal and external security threats, that should not prevent that dept from being supervised by the citizen tax payer and his representatives. Would we accept if Police refused to submit themselves to scrutiny of their actions citing underworld criminals getting empowered by such info being released??

gentleman, please let me know, can you leave your house with out locking it considering that the thieves intended enter the house they do have many ways to enter by their skills?
Col. Athale (Retd.) has made a valiant effort to educate the common man on such issues like Rafale deal. I have all praises for him in this regard. However, citizens of this country must remember it is not the Rafale deal that is being hyped by the opposition like Congress and its allies, it is the issue of coming back to power by these opposition parties by hook or by crook as they are now penniless. Previously they had all the money for their personal use and some for party use (not for any national development) by robbing the national exchequer. Now this is not possible and they anr as blood thirsty ans money thirsty. Therefore, any issue (which is not a issue) is used as weapon to kill the ruling party and come to power and Rafale deal is one such issue. They are not bothered about developing /modernising the army or defense to protect the nation but only interested in getting back to power so that they can start the looting process of the national exchequer.

that is why petitioners against Rafael deal should be given exemplary punishment as deterrence for those who want to play with national interests for vested interests!!
