Re: Rafale deal and the issues raised.

Delay in procurement is dictly responsible for air security and Modi govt is responsible for this delay.
All in Men elite defense(air, ground and water) know that the highest corruption is in purchase and maintenance of arms and top management in the forces duely participate in this stake as no one is bound to question defense.

shame on modi using ambanis for this strategic defence alliance rather depending on RSS lethal men power over HAL.

No, these petitioners want to know why oroginal deal of 126 aircrafts was cancelled in the name of urgency and new deal of 36 aircrafts was made, however complete delivery of 36 can only be expected by2025, you call this urgency?
INitially Col Athale says "Everything about the missiles, except where they are located and their electronic countermeasures, is known to the public and our adversaries."
But later he contradicts himself by saying :
"Giving out the details of pricing will surely help our adversaries to guess the configuration and take countermeasures."

Talk abt quoting as per convenience. Is the comparison between missiles or planes? Is Rafale a missile or a plane? First clear your own head & then ask if you are asking a logical question.

Main objection in the entire deal is why original requirement of 126 aitcrafts was reduced to 36 and when the manufacturer was ready for technology transfer why the same was deleted? Does Col (retd) Athalye has convincing answers for these queries?
Re: Re: COntradiction ?

The manufacturer was ready for tech transfer then what prevented the previous govt from inking the deal before May 2014? The process was initiated in 2007 & Dassault was finalised in 2012, a full 2yrs & no finalising.
If everything was as smooth as you claim, that Dassault had no issues with HAL, HAL was ready to churn out fighter jets as soon as tech transfer happened then why did the negotiations reach a dead end?
Col. Athale, you retired as a Colonel, quite a senior position. You would know that there is enormous corruption in virtually every government purchase in this country. This particular deal involved some shady deals with a Reliance firm with zero aircraft manufacturing experience. Are you saying that this must not be questioned ?
This para actually shows your contempt for the legal system, and is not in keeping with the level of seniority that you retired at. Words like 'PILwallahs' and 'this fraternity'.
"The PILwallahs should actually raise this question as to why we are likely to change our policy of 'no first use' at the last moment and that too without following 'due procedure', the term so loved by this fraternity."

Mr. Sandhu since you make a sweeping observation abt enormous corruption in ALL govt purchases. Surely you are privy to something we are not. Why don't you enlighten the courts on the enormous corruption as you wud like us to believe & get the govt on the mat by proving your statement in the court. Why waste time in a rediff blog?

OMG! It is Dassualt Reliance JV to produce offset under make in India plan for Dassult and not for manufacturing Air Crafts. They will produce as per the drawings provide using material and technology provided by The Principal. Why won't this ignorants keep their IQ level confidential?

Whatever be the exact detail (weaponry or avioncs or something else) that is being claimed as secret, will be known to every junior technician team at the offset-awardee firms such as Reliance-Dassault JV.
Even one single lamp post purchased in democracy requires tender process. When the prices are compromised as the lowest bidder wins the order, quality suffers.I wonder what will court be able to judge about a product which is so sophisticated that even all the pundits will have different technical opinions. Hope every honest citizen is not put on test of court by wasted interest who many times work under influence of competitors who have lost huge business.
Re: Rafel Controversy
by Prakash Bedekar on Nov 15, 2018 05:50 PM
Technical evaluation of Rafele is not the issue. Issue is why original requirement of 126 aircrafts was reduced to 36 in the name of urgency? Do you know that delivery of all the 36 aircrafts will be competed by 2025? You call this urgency, may be BJP has different dictionery.
