Reservation
by Clear Mind on Sep 02, 2015 10:01 PM  | Hide replies

Reservation is not for economic upliftment alone. Some sections of the Indian society were subjected to generations of social, academic, economic, political oppression that they need help if they have to some how overcome this large gap that still exists in this society.

Yes, for those reservations must be implemented, however by limiting creamy layer bellow Rs.3,00,000/ only those who are realy in need will get the benefit. The reservations also must be applicable for those whose family income is less than Rs 3,00,000/ irrespective of cast and religion.

Abolishing of caste base reservation with economic backwords base
by Nandram Tirole on Sep 02, 2015 09:17 PM

I 200% agreed with views of Sh. Vaidya on this issue. Even I would like to add one more thing that reservation and necessary economic support should be limited to education only but not in jobs. This way we can improve quality service by qualified persons without prejudice to caste and creed.

Stop the irrational system
by Mike Teflon on Sep 02, 2015 08:48 PM

The caste-based reservations to uplift oppressed classes and sections of the society was ill-conceived and irrational since inception. It was blindly construed as a panacea and a make belief measure, to a deep-rooted problem.

Instead of addressing discrimination, typecasting, untouchability and so on, they sought to project reservations as a pacifying mechanism.

The result being inefficiency, mediocrity, chronic poverty, decadent human resources, disease and impaired development among other evils.

The faulty system only nurtured vote bank politics and further ruined the country. It never helped us compete with the west and create more opportunities here to eradicate poverty.

Of course, no one will accept the truth! So, why talk about brain drain and pseudo patriotism?

Caste is very much there.
by loriky on Sep 02, 2015 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

Castes have been here for hundreds of years and being used/misused for climbing up in higher social, economic and political power.

Brahmins and Kshtriyas have misused the same to rule the Indian society since the beginning of the rigid caste system in Indian sub continent.

Many castes like bania, kayastha and other have prospered in under prevailing favourable political and economic conditions, so now, many OBCs and SC/ST castes are enjoying the benefits of constitutionally empowered reservations.

Please note that all benefits under reservation have been vetted by the SC in the past and found to be legally correct.

Any protest against caste based quota must be denounced by all Indians and must treat the anti-reservationists like anti-nationals.

caste should not be given importance for admissions and jobs, merits should!!! Again, financial background should be cross-verified using banking norms, rules and regulations... Kudos to Hardik for breaching a subject which politicians shy away from Addressing. Let's see how the current government handles!!!! Either give patels what they ask for, or abolish caste during govt exams, admissions and treat Indians equally.. I hope DR. Babasaheb, Jyoti Phule and such was alive to see this!!! 100/100 to Hardik!!!!

Brahmins never ruled in the past. Even now, Brahmins are not to be seen in Govt. offices. But they work hard and toil to come up. It is the OBCs who ruled the country. Correct yourselves.

Reservation
by Parthasarathy Krishna on Sep 02, 2015 05:06 PM

In reality the people live below poverty level is very high.. These reservations can't be used by most of them as they may not be aware. And more youngsters are getting affected due to these reservation from the educated lot from all caste.. Time change this to economic based, thus there's equal opportunity fir all.

Stop reservations as caste basis. Do it by economically below families or persons as he and most of the Indian says. Take a survey and then decide.

Just because Amitabachan and Saif have acted in movies like Arakshan, it should never be taken for granted that reservation is the need of the hour. Have better way of educating people and providing jobs.In Tamilnadu many Engineering colleges have closed because there are no students coming there. There are no SC/ST students who have qualified. Hence the OC students also do not get a chance.

That caste has become obsolete now. Caste-ism is a reality in india and runs in their blood of majority of indians. If you don't believe go to any indian village and see in your own eyes. We should first abolish caste before abolishing reservations. I have proposal to abolish caste and at the same time get reservation for everybody.
First give reservation to SC/ST 20%. No quota for OBCs and others. Give 30% to those who marries a SC/ST.This way we can offer reservation to upper castes and SC/STs as well as abolish the caste system in 2-3 generations. In fact we should discourage same caste marriages and give incentive to intercaste marriages where one person is from SC/ST.

Well I could get your nice idea to abolish cast system in India. Well give more and more reservations to Sc/ST/BC for medical students and let them become doctors on reservation basis. Hope you would get yourself treated by one of these doctors soon !.
I would suggest Abolish reservations immediately and provide education on merit only. Same goes to jobs,

Mr BG, pls be fully informed that a qualified doctor is a doctor irrespective of his lower marks while getting admission.
The very askance of this question shows your poor knowledge about qualification of a doctor or an engineer; but also shows your deep rooted castiest mentality inherited from your illiterate parents.
How many of you ask a doctor about his mark sheet or his caste?
If you go to rural areas- you find these benefited doctors serving the masses.
If you check the list of doctors who have blundered during surgery or medication like leaving scissors, napkin inside the body, or damaging kidney or other parts, all of them found to be from the so-called meritorious castes.

Why you don't show concern when the candidates from the affluent families pay heavy donations to become a doctor?
Some times they purchase leaked papers to qualify an entrance exams- have you protested against such practices?

Kudos to HARDIK, 100/100 For bringing up this subject... Punjab govt once said during congress rule, if the person get 34 1% grace, i.e. 35% and if the person is an SC/SC/OBC, those students will be given admission in Medical college, and my own class mate got shunned out of SOMAIYA ENGINEERING COLLEGE ghatkopar after getting 93% aggregate, she did BSC 1 YEAR and then joined engineering the next year!!! loss of 1 year in academics..! speaks volumes about casteism!!! ABOLISH CASTE Resevations to bring an equal india and to be just with all INDIANS...few well to do families spend to get admissions because 20% sc , 20% st, 20% OBC, 30 % minorities, and GENERAL CATEGORY CAN GO OFF THE HIGHWAY!!!! Sounds super cool!!!

I think you are only thinking in one prespective and you want reservations to continue on the basis of cast and creed and race. Well this has been condemned internationally but still practiced in India to create divide. I would suggest you to travel on a bridge constructed by a less qualified engineer and I bet you would think twice. Hence please provide seats based on merit rather than going by cast based. If tomorrow if the government supports reservations to Brahmins then would you still support the cast system ?

My friend I rather fear to cross a bridge designed by a guy who studied in management quota in a private college and built by a corrupt contractor. Most of the people who got education due to reservation normally works in India and those merit students usually migrate to western countries. And for your information most of the bridges are anyway built and designed by engineers who studied/got Job in reservation system. I am supporting only abolishing of caste system and we should be discussing it before going to reservation system. I do believe that creamylayer concept should be implemented in order to widen the benefit of reservation to oppressed classes.

I am rather feared for getting treated by doctor who graduated from a private college in management quota. For your information the competition within SC/ST and OBC candidates is getting tougher and it is only myth that if you just get pass mark you can become a doctor or engineer if you are an SC/ST or OBC.

SC & GC segregate! Upper caste/GC people establish your own educational institutions and please let only the upper caste eligible candidates be admitted there. Let the expenditures of such establishments be exempted from income tax. SC gentlemen you too establish your own institutions and enjoy please. Sell out all government institutions and let the government get rid of the agitations every other day. In the near future there will be no government job and the Corporate Houses will recruit people purely on merit - let people get jobs according to their merit only. Let reservation for SC be history.
