CONgress has done lots of such volte-faces!!! First, Indira armed the LTTE, then Rajiv continued it and when the rear-end was on fire, he stopped it and sent IPKF!! That's why Rajiv first got attacked by a Srilankan soldier and then by the LTTE: One failed and the other succeeded!! What Rajiv met with in 1991 is called as a FITTING FINALE for the "Heights of Irony"!!!

with this vote we have opened the doors of china and pak into lanka. and we will regret the same in the decades to come. any govt worth its salt cannot explain to its people why they have to keep friendship with india when india choose to back stab them. the myopic tamil leaders who cant think beyond their nose have played a dangerous game which the whole nation will have to suffer. we have already been circled by enemies i.e. pak, nepal (maoist), china and now through lanka. what kind of foreign ministry do we run. its a shame. we want the lanka govt to rehibilitate the tamils asap but not by undermining our own security. congress has never been a nationalist party and can never understand foreign policy and security issues

Oh come on stop laying the China and Pakistan card. So India aided and abetted and danced to the Sinhalese tune and did everything what their Sinhalese masters asked them to do, against the wishes of its own Tamil population.
This still has not stoped the Sinhalese who hate the Indians, running to Paksitan or China. It is to China that they have given most of their key projects especially building naval bases in the norht east of Sri Lanka overlooking the Tamil Nadu coast.
If India really wanted to nullify the effects of China or Paksitan in the island they should have either buitl up up the LTTe militarily so that they are a check against the Sinhalese/Chines and Pakistani axis or made the Eelam Tamil politically powerful. They did neither as Indian is run by North Indians and Malayalees and certain communities from Tamil Nadu that are basically anti Tamil.
They pandered to Sinhalese racism and alienated the island's Tamil population who were their natural allies and made them their enemies
The Sinhalese have never liked India or Indians and will never do so. They will only use Indian to achieve their genocidal aim of eliminating the indigenous Tamil population and then discard India like a used curry leaf. The only way India can assert its influence is to firmly be in the side of right and humans rights and still the Sinhalese to stop playing silly burgers and grant the Tamils thier due and just rights and make its presence strongly felt.

The Sinhalese use the China/Pakistan card very skilfully to get India to do what they want. Many anti Tamils in India also use this to the maximum as an excuse,so that India will not help the Tamil population in the island.
However they danced to a differnt tune durign the Bangaldesh crisis or whn it comes to dealign with problems with Fiji Indians ect. They they dacne up and down demanign India to interfere. Only when it comes to Tamils al lsorts of lame excuses like Kashmir. China/Paksitna Card etc are brought in.

Well said Siva.
All these have happened only due to the selfish political leaders in TN.
Things would have gone worse if similar situation happened for any other communities( Like Gujarathis,Marathis or any other north indians)outside India, the parliment activities would have came to a grinding halt.
All english news channels would have cried foul.

You seem to be having a LOT of FREE time to write LONG LONG messages ( Of course, what you say is correct ) except the words " indigenous Tamil population " should be changed to " Tamil population of Indian origin " " Indigenous Tamil Population would mean " a tribe which originated in Sri Lanka " - which is not so !! I am not taking classes for you. But I admire your knowledge and depth of perception in this matter !!!!

They are indigenous and not form India .go and read the history of the island. It has two Tamil groups the Indigenous and Indian origin. Teh present conflict is between the indigenous Eelam Tamils and the Sinhalese and not the Indianorigin estate Tamils. I know my history far better than you. The Indigenopus Eelam Tamil are a seprate ethnic group from the Estate Indian Tamils. Thei rculture langauge eay of life is diferent. Far more closer to Kerala thanto present day Tamil Nadu. They are largely descended from the ancient Tamil nagas wh olived in the lsland. The Eezhavas of Kerala migrated from the island

1. Srilanka is not our ally.
2. Look at the way they are behaving in Sea, Pakistan seems to be better than these guys. They are sinking our ships trawlers, firing indiscriminately on our fishermen.
3. We cant improve our ties with Pakistan because we know ultimately they will support seperatist movement in India - covertly or overtly. Same is the case with Srilanka, India has been supporting LTTE.
4. Srilanka is already toeing the lines of Pakistan/China Axis.

These people have never lived or moved with the Sinhalese. The average Sinhalese despite their overwhelming Indian origin ( Orissa/TamilNadu) are anti Indian and anti Hindu to the core. Irrespective of whatever Indiadoes to them they will always be pro Paksitan and Chinese. Lokk at how all the Muslim nations other than Luniya voted for the Sinhalese.

At first look it seems this decision may harm our international interest at some deciding day,UPA is being pressurised too much by its allies,is DMK today in position to withdraw support ,either congress is too scared of going out of power or they have something big in place which seems not the case
