Voting against Sri Lanka
by arungopal agarwal on Mar 23, 2012 05:12 PM

This is the reason why Indian neighbours are not respecting New Delhi, they are leaning towards China. PAK is already having ties with China, Nepal too and now Sri Lanka.
Great foreign policy and statesmanship of great leaders.

WHEN AMERICA PLANED TO CREATE A MILITARY BASE AT SRILANKA, MRS. INDIRA GANDI "WARNED" SRILANKA THAT INDIA WILL WITHDRAW ALL ITS SUPPORT, THEN SRILANKA REFUSED AMERICA. NOW WHY GOVT IS NOT TAKING BRAVE ACTIONS ?

by sankar on Mar 23, 2012 04:56 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone should know the Srilankan tamils are not fully from India. There certain no.of percentages of tamil population are from India. But largely there are Tamil navtives in Srilanka. A best example is Rameshwaram Temple was built by Srilankan Tamil King. Even the stones of the Temple were brought from Srilanka.
This is info is for all.

Point is, even if they are from India, they are now Srilankan citizens and have been for generations. Just because these people speak Tamil, does not give a right to India to interfere.

I cannot agree with this, why when Pujabis, gujus and muslims eventhough are born and bred in a different country the govt still support them when there is an issue. India is goverened by spineless and very very corrup politicians. Shame on the Indians cannot back people of own ehinicity. Its better TN becomes separate country. I can forsee Indias future as Bangladesh taking over india border and 800million illeterate muz from pakis will penetrate porus borders and f**K u* all indians. This is defnitely gonna happen in next 10 years. Indian intelligence is joke and waste of time coz eveytime US has to pin point someone is going to plant a bom* and still so called indians would do nothing. Look at Kesabs case and wasted crores. Its better TN come out separate and better run by people with SPINES.

You correct. These people are anti Tamil to the core. Were jumping up and down gleefuly when Indian was aiging and abettign the Sinhalese racsits to commit genocide on the Tamil population in the island. Did tot say anything when the IPKF was busy killing raping and looting the Tamil population in th eisland. Now even when ther is a small victory for the Eelam Tamil population where India was forced to vote. Their tune has nwo changed. India shudl not interfere. SO to them the racist Indian hating Sinhalese population in Sri Lank are far more deareer adn precious than the 80 or 90 million strong Tamil population in India. Shows what a bunch of nypocirtical racist these people are.

Yes you are correct .There are two groups of Tamil living in the island. One indigenous to the land called the Eelam Tamils hailing from the North East and North West coast of the island . These people have their own unique culture cuisine way of life. Their Tamil of far more closer to old/classical Tamil with many old Tamil words that are still retained in Malayalam but have gone out of usage in Tamil Nadu. Their culture food habbits and way of life is in fact much closer to Kerala than to Tamil Nadu. A Malayalee will genrally tend to understand their Tamil far more easily than the Tamil dialects spoken in Tamil nadu. In fact the Eezhavas of Kerala are anceint immigrants from the island.
They have ruled themselves and their lands until European colonisation. The Sinhalese hardly had any peep into their lands.
The other group are the Indian origin largely estate Tamils whom the British brought into the island aroudn 200 to 150 years ago to work in the Tea and rubber estates in the central higlands.Later other Indian Tamil traders, businessmen and white collar workers migrated.
Other than in Colombo the Indigenous and Indian origin Tamils live in separate parts of the island. They hardly mix socialy or even intermarry. They are considered as two distinct separate ethnic groups.
The present conflict is between the indigenous Eelqm Tamils and the Sinhalese. The Indian origin Tamil are affected but not directly involved.
