Governor's Cat & Mouse game should stop.
by aloke mukherjee on May 17, 2011 11:30 AM

I donot find any justification of Governor Mr.Bharadraj action, asking Centre to disslove Karnataka govt.Governor should see that whether the goverment of Karnataka is running smoothly & peacefully and ae per Supreme court judgment may maximum ask Mr Yedpa to have a floor test. But instead of this he is playing Cat & Mouse game as if he is a suprem king in this democratic state. This is rediculas.Congress at Centre if they are interested to wipe corruption from India must act boldly to give a appropriate decision of not dissolving the BJP goverment in Karnataka. As a normal citizen of Indian democracy this is my view.

Beware Manish . Sonia will make you a chaiwala to Jaya
by S S on May 17, 2011 11:22 AM

On election results day, HT anchor posed the question whether 2G scam was responsible for the heavy defeat DMK was facing. Manish flew into a rage and shouted "does the person who is seen winning in TN smell of roses? " What he could not stomach was that cong . was getting decimated in TN as in Bihar. Hence the delirium against Jaya. Well now Sonia has invited Jaya for tea , what will Manish do? He will be ready to make chai for Jaya on Sonia's orders.

SC ha ha ha
by sickulars on May 17, 2011 11:16 AM

The role of SC & the judges who delivered this verdict is questionable. By any account, this judgement looks non-sensical. The judgement nullifies the anti-defection law & promotes the MLAs to defect thereby dismissal of govt by centre. I doubt if the SC would have delivered the judgement so fast if the case had pertained to congress govt.

CONgress in Karnataka
by trueIndian on May 17, 2011 11:08 AM

Take it from me. If they manage to dismiss this government and even keep the president rule for 4/5 months before going for next elections, the congress would be wiped out from the state in next elections for good. The dirty games that congress is playing is going to cost them dear. AS far as SC judgement is concerned, anybody who watched the events during that time, would be clear whether the MLAs were merely looking for the change in leadership of the government of wanted the government to fall. If this is not anti-defection then I really don't know when can one apply it. This ruling by SC is going to have far fetching effects and may even start a new phase of aaya ram-gaya ram politics.

huge scams
by Sukanth on May 17, 2011 10:53 AM  | Hide replies

using the same argument by manish tiwari, just going by the number of scams and the magnitude of those scams, the government at the centre does not have any right to continue... I am not justifying the corruption by Yeddy, but it is peanuts when compared to the loot by the centre

The psuedosecular media which supports Congress blindly does not ask these uncomfortable questions to the Congress.
No political party is clean in India. All parties have learnt the game of corruption from the mother of all corruption-Congress.
Congress can't digest the growth of BJP and popular leaders like Modi,Nitesh,Yeddy, etc.

by Shaman on May 17, 2011 10:46 AM

The shamelss Congis have nothing to lose by indulging in dismissing elected state govts. Immersed in scams after scams, nepotism and bad goivernance, they are pretty sure that in the next elections people will send them packing and they want to make the best while in power. Can they learn something from DMK's fall in TN ?....

If congress wants to act by the strictures of courts...
by hiral joshi on May 17, 2011 10:45 AM

Sheila, Kalmadi, Pranab (for the role of ED and IT in Hasan Ali and Black money case), Sharad Pawar (for wasting food grains) should have gone from their post few months ago. Supreme court has passed strictures against CBI, Home ministry in 2g case too.
