This Pinky Virani is living off a book on Aruna Shanbhag. That itself is so sad. In fact she obviously filed this petition so that she could get free publicity for her book. Her publisher must have advised her abt this.

and when did you find anything clean,,,,its in your nature to see negative aspect of everything,,,dont you realize its because of this publicity that we know thet something like this happened 37 years ago,,,
One of the worst decision given by SC for a country having a population of more than 125 crores and hundreds of people are sufferring without any aid from Govt. due to oldage/miseries/poverty etc.,etc., Even our religion permits it,examples of this century are Swami Ram Tirth, Vinoba Bhave, and many jain Munis who perform Santhara.
oh my god. she is taking pain from last 37 years and our cruel society and the court not giving her rest in peace. god give her strength and give the mind to our cruel society and the court. now our socity r taking only popularty through media. god help her...............
We should not make mercy killing legal. Because we do not have responsibility and knowledge of handling such issues. We should look each case differently. Form a board consist of experts from medical, legal and social field. If somebody wishes mercy killing due to terminal illness then he or she should apply to that board. Then experts will decide.
In this case, it appears that Aruna, deserves a honorable end, but if we expect a court sanction to it, it may never happen. If court sanctions it suddenly we will find thousands of fabricated mercy killings, and it is not desirable.

The court attention has been drawn by a third party, an author. The nurses & the hospital who are taking care of her are opposed to this petition. As she does not feel the pain, should not it be left to the doctors & nurses to decide if they want to tend to any person or not?
