Where was Mr.Raman doing all these years ? maybe discussing issue of corruptions with Mullahs & Muftis ? Maybe what Mr.Raman wants that instead of Anna Hazare, the issue of corruption could have been settled by issuing a FATWA by a learned "Mullah".
Is this not a a historical moment in Democracy; that is representative of civil society comprising people of proven track record will sit with political class to prepare a Bill for anti corruption.
is this one small change in polity is not enough and salute this 72 year old man?
In this occasion, where is our so called wise men of South Delhi from Vinod Mehta to Pronoy Roy to Vinod Sharma to Shekhar Gupta to many South Delhi Elitist who really had a hard shock that, their Accented English speaking and Crony capitalism skills are not enough in new India
Mind you Mr Ram, more of this type of agitation is in pipe line, the more you write these kind of paid (for) stories, the more we will be stand up against the Gangsters of South Delhi

Raj-valid points those. What B Raman may be alluding to is because we Indians have a habit of deifying our heroes & leaders. Look how Gandhi and later Nehru and his family have been deified and set on impossibly high pedestals with sycophantic & hysterical worshipers. This is what allowed a non-entity like Sonia to become the Congress President and run a puppet PM's government through remote control and a kitchen cabinet like the NAC which consists of Sonia's hand picked intellectuals & social activists. The rewards of corruption are instant and gainful while any punishment or action is hugely delayed, disproportionate and sometimes easily avoidable due to the protection given by the higher powers that may be and inordinate judicial delays. This is the main reason why the high and mighty have no fear of the law. The conduct of many in high positions have repeatedly come under a cloud and many have gone scot-free and entire empires built with ill gotten wealth. Given the abysmal rate of conviction or closure of corruption cases, the impatience of the country is justified. Indians do not trust politicians, governments or the checks & balances and anti-graft institutions within the system. The politicians and bureaucrats will never pass laws which subject them to any scrutiny or strict action. This is the vacuum which Anna Hazare's movement has filled. We respect him but we should be careful not to deify him at the cost of Indi

Absolutely agree...no frenzied deification please...the man himself wouldn't want it. But whole-hearted, full-throated, non-suspicious respect for this effort - YES !
write some thing stupid. Get lot of criticism. Get click count high get paid high.
He always does same thing. When everyone supporting AnnaJi he'll say otherwise and get fooked. When one is critising MMS write supportive article. What a Sr.looser
Instead of fighting for another checks-and-balances position like Lokpal, Indian youth must draw inspiration from the Team Party movement sweeping across the US, which correctly identifies the real problem as massive government (of which corruption is a mere consequence) and seeks to reduce the scope and size of the government. When we have minimal government and more market-driven democracy and people to are 'free to choose', the opportunities for corruption will automatically reduce. Remember - government is a cancer that grows at the cost of host organism (citizens). Like cancer cells, it has its own agenda and the only solution is to eradicate it (not trying to reform it). Let's fight for a goverment that serves only its legitimate functions of defense, procting our borders, our life, our property, our liberty, adjudicates on disputes and provides those public services that cannot be profitably provided by the private sector. Governmnet must move out of its policing, regulating and wealth-redistribution functions. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.

Can you give 1 example of a government in the world where your utopian ideals are really working? why dont you first start a lemonade stand. When you succeed, you can give everyone your lecture on capitalism.

Thanks for the advice but you miss the point. These ideals are working at billions of places in billions of transactions taking place between parties that voluntarily enter into a contract and walk away better off than before. Government control and involvement only distorts the field and leaves everybody poorer in the process. Less government = more prosperity.
One of the main reasons why corruption has taken deep roots in recent years is because of the number of political institutions that have this so called 'election' setup. From Loksabha, to state assemblies, municipalties, various govt bodies, etc. etc. More the number of institutions makes more number of political workers - who are just the followers of their leaders. And more political workers ultimately corrupt the society in its own ways. So the best way is to have a setup where you have the least number of political workers. Remember previously too there were govt officers and they were comparitively quite honest than the present officers. U can certainly take todays officers back to their olden days by revamping the system.
When the entire international Indian community is supporting the Anna Hazare movement for Anti Corruption Why this idiot B.Raman is criticising him? To get some benefit and name through criticism from the political parties. Dont harm yourself, your people and your country by criticisting this Great Man's venture. If you are such a great you would have started such a Movement First. Criticising is always easy but doing something good to the nation is very tough. That too in a land of corruption full policiticians who are threatening goondas for the people who are doing good, is really a touch job. Be good atleast to yourself dont write these kind of articles.
