Till the authorities didn't give any reason for the accident, all assumptions. How some people saying that its pilot mistake, etc.
How the crew is overburdened?.
The flights from India to USA and Canada, the staff flying 8-10 hours time.

over drunk or under drunk ... who cares ... if he was drunk, that alone is a reason to cause this great mishap

The Golden goose is dead...
by Thomas Mathew on May 23, 2010 09:09 PM  | Hide replies

Sorry to sound cold, heartless and cynical, but most of these young men are nothing but milk cows for their relatives back home, they work their butts off in the Gulf only to be milked of their last drop of blood by their relatives back home. I'd take their 'sorrow' with a pinch of salt and risk sounding cold and heartless

IT SURELY WAS THE PILOT ERROR
by Harmeet Bhatti on May 23, 2010 08:40 PM

The flight landed 3000 to 4000 feet ahead of its actual landing area. This shows that pilot was not alert as to what he was doing.

1. He landed the plane almost in the middle of the full length of the run way.

2. He realised his mistake and tried to stop it and the tire got burst of the sudden brakes

3. he tried to again take off again but the length of the run way left was too short even though he tried to throttle up but banged against the wall and went down.

All this shows that pilot was not alert , either the copilot who was less experianced was in commmand at the time of landing.

Why belame the runway. when the pilot lands it in wrong way. The planes were landing there since last 4 years.

WHEN WILL ALL THESE AIRLINE OPERATORS REALISE THAT THEY SHOULD HIRE ONLY EXPERIANCED PILOTS RATHER THAN FRESH FROM SCHOOLS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE ACTUAL FLIGHT IS NOPT USED AS THEIR TRAINING PLACE, WHERE AND ERROR CAN TAKE UP LIFE OF HUNDREDS OF PASSENGERS.

Govt is not to blame
by Prem Mohan on May 23, 2010 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

Most people on this forum are blaming the government but I don't see any logic in that. Let us at least wait for the full information. Mr Praful Patel is an excellent aviation minister and he has the full support of our wise and erudite PM.

Crew & aircraft burdened.
by Gautam Nagda on May 23, 2010 07:24 PM

Aircrafts undergo small checks when they land at destination and plan to return in some 1-2 hours. Basically they refuel, clean aircraft and store food. Besides the dubai flight is a short flight. In case of long flights, new set of crews takeover, with the running crew taking rest. Aircraft also halts for 1.5-3 hours. Maintenance of aircraft is planned. I believe it's wrong to say that the crew & aircraft is burdened. The flight time to dubai is short.

Have you seen the charred bodies of young ones and kids? It is times like this that one wonder if there is god and the prayer are getting answered. So when Prem Mohan said " Who is God and What is Prayer?", he is meaning it from the innermost of the heart, where we all feel for the 150 souls that had to meet with this tragedy. I cry for them.

DR.A. V. Bhuleshkar,
I suggest that you should have titled this as GREAT EXPECTATIONS even if it infringes on Charles Dickens!
Show a me a politician who is committed to this country and I will show you a Unicorn that flies better!
Somewhere in ornate graves there would be a Sardar Patel , a Lal Bahudur Shastri who had some commitment to this nation !! But for the rest including Nehru , his daughter Indira , his grandson Rajeev ( God we are not a monarchy ... why does my list make it look like one ?) and for Vajpayee and VP Singh etc nothing could be more undesirable that even a hint that politicians should be committed to this nation !!!
So same time next week all will be forgotten and we will go back to what we all ways - a nation of selfish people eking out a life and being led by the most corrupt political establishment in the world!!!!
An Unknown Indian

How can you say such things? Does any country in the world have leaders as honest and competent as Mdm Sonia Gandhi, Dr Manmohan Singh and Mr Rahul Gandhi?

Prem Mohan ... I can say this because I have a working brain ... yes unlike you !!!
As for your question about any other country having a more honest and competent leadership ... I think Pakistan with 10% Zardari has one !!!
