Aamir khan padma bhushan? One day everybody in bollywood will have bharat ratna... Congress party just don't find a appropriate person for these awards. They thought so many people have seen the film and liked aamir so equal number of people will vote for them. Good politics!!!!!! An actor who is not confident about his acting and keep on marketing his movies and roams all over india to beg audiences to view his film. If a r rahman gets Padma Bhushan what about RD, LP and Bappi Lahiri etc. They also scored massive hits. And Rekha now? When is Jyoti Basu getting Bharat Ratna?

i dont find many people in india who actually care about these awards (which is now pretty much on the lines of bogus cinema awards and all), those who care, have immediately termed it as bull$hit. i mean this entire list is laughable, rekha saif ali khan aamir khan reddys chatwal sehwag etc etc etc. these are 2nd and 3rd highest civilian award, should be given to those who have not only achieved success in their own area but also giving back somethng to our society. adding too many bollywood personalities adds nothing but glamour quotient to these awards. there are lot more better actors in down south & in bengal and maharashtra, but who really cares, everyone wants to get closer with these 'stupid' celebrities. also one can see the close connections between political parties and award winners. if someone is close enough to one of the party in coalition government there are chances that he/she gets award in no time. remember aishwarya and whole bachchan family in the list of winners in past

What is the criteria for getting selected for this awards? Who gets the chance to be the part of nomination committee?Is this committee doing any homework before deciding the candidate?
Barring few, it doesn't look like(at least for me) that they deserve any National Level Awards. If would have been better if they had chosen someone who had actually made the impacts on peoples life to change it(peoples life) to better.

I recommend Chief Justice S J Mukhopadhaya for Bharat Ratna for his judgment today on India not having a national language. I guess Rediff doesn't want people to know this development, as I haven't seen any article here. But other news portals in India have reported this. Check it out for yourselves.
I am delighted that Some Awards goes to good people who are sincere to their work particular to Mr Khan who is not less than perfect for all his work done in last 5-10 Years. Kudos to Mr Khan and keep up the good work. I hope in he future you will show some tips to these Politicians who just destroying the India.
