WHO IS LOCAL
by sanjay on Jan 21, 2010 09:58 AM  | Hide replies

People who are staying in maharashtra before its formation i.e. before 1960 should be considered locals only. let other states also follow the same criteria.

GOOD DECISION
by sanjay on Jan 21, 2010 09:50 AM  | Hide replies

this decision should have been taken long time. a person who came to MH yesterday from UP, gets a taxi within 15 days and starts earning while local people have to struggle for this. is this not injustice to local people. Actually so many taxis are not at all required. go and try crossing any road you will understand how problematic it is for school going children. i REALLY do not understand why people come to Mh for selling vegetable, to drive taxi, to collect raddi, to sell coconut, uttapa.such businesses should be done by locals only and reduce the unemployment among the local. how does it sound if indians go to USA to sell vegegable or clean toilet.

Mr. Sanjay... what is stopping the locals from doing these business. Even locals (who have been staying in MH for years) could have bought a taxi, or sold vegetables. No one has asked them not to work....

Very correct. They donot want to do hard work infact else why factories would hire migrant labours who are not knowing even local language.Half of the day they are sitting in local sena office or gambling.even they could not produce an actor of stature of amitabh shahrukh Amir Dilip Kumar etc all migrants only. They want Mumbai to go Kolkata way.

Dividing country again
by akhilesh dixit on Jan 21, 2010 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

It's irony of India that we have such leaders who have mastered the art of Dividing in name of Cast Religion or language/Regionalism etc . We dream of competing with china with such narrow mentality. You can ask for marathi speaking test at the most but living for 15years shows true colour and intentions.

Sena welcomes domicile, Marathi norms for taxi permits
by ynianand on Jan 21, 2010 09:41 AM  | Hide replies

I have lived in Mumbai, then Bombay for a long time to understand the sentiments of the local populace. Having lived in other parts of the country as well, i would like to say that the Marathi are the most "Home liking people". That is, they neither would like to go out of their surroundings, let alone the state, nor would they welcome anyone unless the person contributes greatly to their economy and welfare, like the Hindi Film Industry. Just imagine as to what will happen these locals if the Hindi Film Industry decides to move out of Maharashtra! In that sense, Marathi are most selfish people in this country. It is unfortunate but true that any non-Marathi who has interacted with many Marathi would readily agree.

Hi Chat,

Then try to drive out the Hindi Film Industry and have the same standard locally.

I have the greatest regard for all those Marathies who contributed to what Bombay is today, especially the Great Lata Mangeshkar. But with due apologies I would like to submit that she would not have been what or where she is today had the Hindi Film Industry not been there in Bombay.

Now that you have prospered, you do not want others in Mumbai. Typical Marathi attitude! Disgusting more so because, you have no guts to make a living elsewhere but do not want others also to come to Mumbai because of your parochial attitude.

Please correct yourselves & live as Indians rather than Marathies.

Cant understand the logic behind these,it seems they have made up their minds to destroy the poors, this decision simply hurts where it matters most, the poor immigrants from UP's last hope is also gone, lets make an alternative arrangement for these people.
