Marathi norms for taxi permits
by sample S on Jan 21, 2010 09:32 AM  | Hide replies

If you are giving taxi permits only for well versed marathis, then you have to use taxis manufactured within Maharastra. Bloody fools separating the country, and creating racism within the country, those who are objecting racist attack of Indians in Australia.

One can understand that you should know Marathi or local language and Roads also but 15 year clause is just to stop migrants. It's divide and rule at worst.Unforunately people have no choice in Ms alternative to CongNCP was Shivsena even worse.

please take all them out of maharashtra. they are there because they feel safe here. it is not one way requirement. it is not safe in delhi, utter pradesh, bihar therefore (heartland of hindi and bhijpuri) therefore they are here. and if they wish to go to any other state they are always welcome.

Migrants
by Prashanth DSouza on Jan 21, 2010 09:05 AM

The issue of migrants will always be a contentious one. But it is important to ensure that the rules are very clearly stated and implemented across the board without exception.

The reality between rule and implementation in India is the crux of all problems. Rules not implemented properly lead to a lot of confusions and almost all Indians don't think twice before breaking the rules.

No harm absolutely in defining Marathi as a required language for providing better opportunities to locals. But what about the existing taxi drivers? What is to become of them? Also what about ensuring that all of them know atleast hindi or english for the benefit of people who come to Mumbai to do business?

The congress govt is expected to be far sighted and suave, not compete with the SS and MNS in short sightedness and crappy planning.

What is wrong with you porkis. Go get your own website. Sri Lanka and India have great relations which you cannot spoil. You are either a porki or south indian.

Marathi for Taxis
by rajagopal nambakam on Jan 21, 2010 08:44 AM  | Hide replies

The issue is not actually knowing Marathi to drive Taxi. If readers can recollect, there was move to stop crowding Bombay, as long as 30 yrs. But our great Indian Town Planners (destroyers) never understand simple things. All the 110 crores Indians confirm that living in any city is a punishment, water shortage, lack of housing, power cuts, traffic jams, no elbow place, drains overflowing & water taps drying, increasing crime rate (not necessarily for monetary gain but just to earn next meal) rapes & murders etc. Name it & you have it. There must be some way to stop the bursting of civic amenities in all cities. GOVT HAS TO TAKE UP IMMEDIATELY (AS IF RELIEF FOR EARTH QUAKE VICTIMS) DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES IN RURAL AREAS SO THAT THEY DONT HAVE TO FLOCK TO SOME NOT NEARBY BUT FAR OFF CITY, BECAUSE NEARBY CITY IS ALREADY CROWDED OR NO JOBS TO OFFER. MOST UNFORTUNATE, OUR PLANNING COMMISSION GREATS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT & MUCH LESS WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. THERE IS ONLY ONE SUSTAINABLE, PERMANENT, NEVER FAILING, RIGHT ROYAL ROUTE RAJDHANI EXP. WHICH IS AVAILABLE, ABSOLUTELY VACANT & AT NO COST, EVEN IN AC I CLASS. BUT SOMEONE FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION HAS TO OPEN THEIR EYES & TRY TO KNOW WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. I CANT TELL THE PLAN TO A WALL. BUT FOR SURE, THEY ARE AIMING ALL THEIR PLANS, ONLY FOR WALLS & NOT FOR THE COUNTRY.

You are using one platform to launch into virtually every problem the country is facing. You might want to rein in that instinct and stick to the discussion at hand. Multitasking doesn't work in real life.

YOU ARE RIGHT MY FRIEND ... WHAT IS USE OF LIVING UNDER COUNTRY NAME INDIA .. IF TAX PAYERS NOT ABLE TO LIVE GOOD LIFE .. IT IS A GREAT PUNISHMENT TO LIVE IN INDIAN CITIES ... THESE INTERSTATE MIGRATION MUST BE BANNED ... LIKE IN CHINA ... THERE VARIOUS CATEGORIES OF CITIES ... WHERE MIGRATION IS ALLOWED FOR CERTAIN CASE AND CONDITION ... THIS IS ONLY ALTERNATIVE ... OR WE DO NOT NEED THIS COUNTRY INDIA ... THIS IS ALREADY PROVED TO BE FAILED NATION FOR DEMOCRACY . IT IS BETTER TO HAVE SEPARATE NATION IDENTITY FOR SATE LIKE MAHARASHTRA

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
by Nirkos on Jan 21, 2010 08:40 AM

THIS IS TOO LATE ... ACTUALLY ALL THESE DECISIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN LONG BACK ... AT LEAST 30 YEARS BACK ... SHIVSENA IS BIGGEST CULPRIT .. EVEN THEY ARE IN POWER ON BMC SINCE 1980 ... THEY NEVER EVER FORCED GOVT. TO MAKE SUCH RULES ... BUT THIS IS NOT AT ALL ENUF.. ANYWAYS BETTER LATE THAN NEVER ... FOR ALL THE GOVT. / PRIVATE JOBS /BUSINESS ...THIS RULES MUST BE APPLICABLE... I THINK NEXT 1/2 YEARS .. THEY CAN TAKE THIS DECISION ...
