Go to any Big Bazaar supermarket and you will hardly notice any exitways on a normal day, let alone during an emergency. Big Bazaar has rented cheap and shoddy places in Bangalore just to save cost, and cusomers might ultimately pay with their lives in case of fire.

Brother, take care of the bombs in Karachi before commenting on Bangalore. Have a good day!!
Its utterly ridiculous that in this age, fire force does not have mattresses on which people can jump. We Indians always need some bad experience to learn from. Prevention is never a measure here. Lets keep paying the price.
Are normally taken as a joke. I think more emphasis should be laid on what to do during such emergencies. What is sad is most people who die are educated! May their souls rest in peace

high rise buildings are ISI conspiracy...just say this these piggoos and they will cry with pain, yes yes yes yes...and they will ask thakre and mochi to raise a campaign against all high rise buildings.as it is a ISI symbol....
i think SRK also has high rise buildings....how come he can show so many high rise buildings in his movies...it is against india and landoopanti of landoos...india must beg on its knees before USA and UK to put pressure on SRK and Pakistan...
if a hoist with a rectangular platform into which people could have jumped on to from floors 6 & 7 and safely brought down, as seen in western movies. Our govts always wake up only after a tragedy takes place. Why could not the employees make use of a fire exit ? Was there fire fighting equipment in place in the building and operational when this fire took place. It also appears that when the fire engines came, they came without water ! Could we have been more under prepared ?

western countries are uncultured. We should not emulate any good from them, instead we need to only copy low waist jeans, funny hairdos, false accent etc ...
at 8.30 am i watched the h.t.channel and horrified to find three persons being shown falling down.reading mr.kishore's letter above i realise the fire exit is either not available for use or non existant.apparently mock fire drill was never carried out and residents were unawre of the path to take in an emergency. added to this there was chaos and panic in the entrance and main road packed with surging crowds.i agree the nine people lost their lives in chaos and panic and not due to fire.there should be a thorough probe into the cause and irregularities for future guidance.
It is very sad that so many people lost their lives .. and the outrageous point is that they didn't have to!
For high-rise buildings, fire drills should be made mandatory - atleast a few times every year. Clear signs should be posted on each floor for the exit routes. Companies in each of the floors should train a few volunteers on emergency safety procedures. This does not cost much and is more of a procedural process that needs to be followed. We should start giving more importance to human life and its value.
