key issue: physical access
by Amit Saraf on Sep 08, 2010 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

The person suggesting the hacking of EVM's has made every attempt to make it appear that hacking is really simple. One important thing here is that physical access is must to EVM's. number of EVM's are not few hundreds they run into several thousands.
most EVM's carry security seals which can be detected if they are wrongfully opened, similar to the way electric meters are.

If not impossible, it is very very very VERY very VERY difficult to temper EVM's on a large scale to make significant difference.

As such credit card can be duplicated, net backing account can be hacked, servers can be hacked, so hacking or tempering EVM's is very much within the realms of possibility and doing it in lab is no big deal but doing it during elections is really touch task.
Much tougher than doing wrongful things with paper ballots.

Why arrest Hari Prasad
by ramdas shankaran on Sep 08, 2010 11:18 AM

There is no use in arrest of Hari Prasad. Government should go to the real problem. Is tempering in EVM or not? We have many experts. If the government really want to find out, they can, or otherwise.

Yes, According to Indian Constitution the election on the basis of EVM machines, is farud, whatever decisions have been taken by such cabinets are void, according to constitution. The election voting rights very specifically mentioned that, there should be evidence of voting and to whome it is vote given by voter. In EVM machine there is no evidence of voting therefore the process is void. The Supreme Court must come forward and appoint Hon Makendeshwar Katju, Sitting Judge of Supreme Court, to find out all the culprits. This EVM frauds is generated from Kerala State, through State Owned Corporation, and that is reasons any Mallu IAS, IPS and IFS officers gets pripority, when the State is leading in Liquor Consumption. The mallu IAS officer never retired, 10 Janpath, PMO, 24- Akbar and Cabinet Secretariat, is full of Mallus. There is reasons to state that Kerala IAS lobby is behind this Fraud.
