there is no doubt that mr. hari prasad is india's number one hero. his mission is a sacred one, and to me deserves the support of all, specially the best among the indian people.
What can be expected from such a system where our "EFFICIENT" election commissioner are ready to be honoured as Misisters of the party to whom they have favoured. our sports minister is good example .

From the archives of this discussion board, you can see my comments on the controversy of Mr.P.Chidambaram's election from Sivaganga Lok Sabha seat. At one point of time it was announced that the opposition candidate has won. Three hours later, after a lot of confusion, Chidambaram has won the seat. In fact, he was trailing till the last moment. Not only this incident, this manipulation continued in the subsequent byelections held in Tamil Nadu, for four assembly seats, in which a record 87% of polling was recorded, which was never in the history of those constituencies. Manipulations were rampant starting from enrollment of voters, issuing ID cards etc. Thousands of voters who held valid ID cards did not find their names in the respective electoral rolls. CONGRESS is known for its undemocratic ways of capturing power as they are always thirsty of it, even during Indira regime. You know why Mr.T.N.Seshan was clipped of wings as CEC? It was his honesty and forthrightness that has brought him reward of two parallel Election Commissioners, both of them were lickers of the Congress' shoes. One of them is now rewarded with the ministerial berth as Minister of Sports. What can you expect from a regime owing allegiance only to the Royal Family (read Nehru)? Calling ourselves as one of the Largest Democracy is just a fancy, as it does not exist here in its true sense.

Mr. Murali, how can you call Congress manipulates in TN, which is a bastion of Dravidian parties. If manipulations are done by political parties, it is done by every party like JD, LD, RJD, DMK, AIADMK, Shivsena, BJP, apart from Congress. Dont believe political parties. Now with these EVMs, it is not easily possible to manipulate. Can you say that the ballot paper system is more foolproof than EVM. Earlier elections were fought under gun-points, rude muscle power etc. in Bihar, UP, Maharashtra, MP, AP - booth capturing occurred - have you forgotten. Now a days the system is somewhat better. But one thing can be done by plugging the loopholes/defects in EVMs and make it more meaningful.
