There must be something else that lure the intelligentsia to west. When an Indian Origin excel in any field, there is lot of hue and cry from different corners, that it is the lapse from the Govt that these intellectual wealth is going out of the country. Now look at the Nobel Prize winner, he does not even own a car or Cycle. What should we infer from it.Yes there must be something else that lure the intelligentsia not money alone.

You looser, you sound pathetic. People like Venkataraman migrate because they are suffocated by the presence of the likes of Anbumani Ramadoss who are their bosses in Indian environment. If a brilliant chap bosses over you, it is fine, one can and one should accept it. But for the likes of Anbumani Ramadoss to lord over the likes of Venugopal, Venkataraman, Subramanian, Swaminathan, Chandrasekaran, Mahadevan, Sankaran, Venkataramani, Venkateswaran, Padmanabhan, Sethuraman, Srinivasan, Natarajan, Ramakrishnan, Sundararajan, Sundararaman, etc. it affects one's self-respect. First go, learn your "zha" before ever even thinking of esoteric subjects like mastering Ribosomes. Try pronouncing Vaazhapazham correctly instead of calling it Vaalapalam.

Make your Vaazhapazham a central minister; it will start calling itself Vaalapalam, pronto.

No. No. Vaazhapazham can never become a "central minister". That is against social justice green tamil. Vaazhapalams are for greater things like winning the Nobel Prize, becoming World Chess champion and the like. All the politically reserved glories are meant for you SSM. It looks like I have hit the bull's eye with my "Vaazhapazham". Blame it on 2000 years -- at least you may derive some satisfaction out of your frustration.

One swallow does not make a summer. (Swallow is a bird which makes its appearance in summer). I will help you with a few other names like Rajaji, Subramaniam Swamy, Jayalalitha. Don't miss the wood for the trees vaalapalam. You know where vaazhapazhams stand today in the affairs of TN. If you would like to remain purblind, that is your prerogative.

Have you forgotten the "Vaazhapazham - have been"s including TTK, R. Ventataraman et al who basked in political glory in their time? Or do you relegate them to 2000 years back, too?

Many here talk that only Brahmins can achive and Tamil Nadu is wrost state to live... am not against them but am against ppl who praise their caste & creed...

Note :

1) Brahmins had education 2000yrs before .. can anyone say any effective invention from them ...

2) We(Indians) boast that we have one of the oldest education system in the world..can any non brahmin say have their father has a chance to learn from brahmin or jus they are educated after british...

There were no colleges before 2000 years well even 200 years. the education that Brahmins had before 200 years were useless "olai chuvadi" education.
Nothing but envy. Kalaignar was saying similar thing but when his grandson Dayanidhi Maran married a Brahmin - Hindu Newspaper N.Ram's daughter all the hatred vanished.

You are educated probably enjoying fruits of reservation. Will you tell your son to vacate his medical or engineering seat and give to son of some poor uneducated BC or Dalit? This entire anti brahmin movement in Tamil nadu is out of some selfish interests.

Reservation is a bane..Guys, at least now, open ur eyes. From Venkat's case, we can say
1) You cannot suppress real talent. It will progress despite hurdles.
2) Merit and talent should be respected as in US
3) Research should be oriented towards benefit of humankind.
4) Reservations should be removed at least after 3 generations of SC/ST have benefitted.

It is good in one way. I could not get into medical or engineering but had to settle for BSc maths and did computers and management. I was ideally fitting in the IT boom. I am doing far better than a doctor or engineer would do.

Which car do you own?

hello Mr.Suman Guhan Mozumder ,

Which car do you own? I don't think it does really matter. And by the way, it was his knowledge which made a Nobel Prize. Not his means of transportation.

There are many people cycling more than 100kms per day just to earn their daily BREAD.

Now, what are his plans , since he is getting huge money from this Nobel Prize award, probably he might be thinking to go now for a type of Nano car. That is next to bicyle. Therefore it will be considered as a promotion in auto industry for him.

Mr. Estevam Dias for people like u if a persons is judged by the expensive cars he/she drives, then u r just one of those uneducated sleuths (mostly north Indians fall in this category) who believes speaking English is education and wearing a shirt/Trouser is civilized behavior.
