Nobel Prize Winner Venketaraman
by Abraham Daniel on Oct 08, 2009 11:44 AM  | Hide replies

I am happy to hear that Venketaraman was leading a simple life, not of lexury, got the Prize. His hard work and dedication is rewarded. His love and respect to poor and desabled people are appreciatable.I read in news paper that Reliance Ambani gave to his wife an Aircraft Airbus 380 as presentation to his wife on her birthday. That is too much of luxury when many people are poor in India.
Teach our young generation to lead a simple life

I also Tamil, but I do not believe this. I am an Indian first and Tamil later. Mr. prassana speaks for himself and not on behalf of Tamils.

Salutes to U Vekataraman
by rajendrahegde Hegde on Oct 08, 2009 11:35 AM

It is a real thrilling news to learn that a scientist of Indian genes got Nobel, the greatest award for the greatest contribution to science. I salute U for all the noble achievements of U and Ur students. It is very nice to learn that being such a great scientist, U r living a simple vegetarian life. It motivates all of us here. Let us not dig into his caste etc. Let us get motivated to emulate him in our own area of interest.

No. That would go against the laws of social justice. Unless they can simultaneously felicitate someone from the barber clan of Karunanidhi for their ability at true science, this Tamizh Paappan (a derogatory term for Brahman) cannot even be congratulated -- they would loose votes of the remaining 97% of Tamizh population.

Our mentality
by Shyam Sunder on Oct 08, 2009 11:20 AM

When somebody is trying to grow, we don't bother to help. When somebody is seeking help for research we pooh him off. When someone gets to top, we start researching his origin and start claim him as Indian. We want to be proud of somebody whom we threw away without giving any aid for growth. So only, all our talent is going out and prospering there. We want only reservations and statues in this country.
