I think Rahul Gandhi will follow in the footsteps of Indira Gandhi to bring India in to the most Prosperous Contry in the World. We need some young blood in the old political system.

Garvabhanga for the Left Front in WB
by Mallik Sharma on Nov 11, 2009 07:18 PM

I think it is a welcome 'garvabhanga' (a repeat of which already occurred in the earlier parliamentary polls) for the Left Front who forgot about the common man cosily ensconsced in the seats of power. There is not a single Lower Income group or even Middle Income group housing scheme worth the name taken up by this LF govt. Contrast to so many welfare schemes by non-Left governments in the South which are governed better any day. Hope the Left Front prepares to get out of power, remain among people and work for their betterment with service orientation at least from now onwards.

Build the Congress in UP and Bihar
by IMTIAZ KHAN on Nov 11, 2009 03:05 PM

The Congress must realise they can never come to power in Delhi by themselves till UP and Bihar won over. There is a long way to go, they have to work hard and create a grassroots organisational setup there. All the best to Rahul Gandhi. His difficult innings in these states would give him the insights which would be invaluable for him in his future assignment/s. If the Congress fails to do that then they will continue to be dependent on the Karunanidhi's and Mamta's of the world.

India a failed democracy
by vijaya kumar on Nov 11, 2009 02:35 PM  | Hide replies

Politics is now a business to make money. India is now ruling by sonia gandhi dynasty and other rich families of some more than 50 familes & their friends. Elections can be win by money, muscle power and glamour of cine stars with some number of paid cadres. Poor people are forced to vote for a particular candidate as per directions of village Pradhan or by the Members of Village Panchayat or goons / criminals of that area. Political parties used to purchase these Pradhans, criminals by paying lakhs of rupees and also paying caste leaders and religious groups for vote and win elections. Ama admi caught between these corrupt and rich political families and they are struggling to eat one meal a day.

By Poll results
by Haramohan Roy on Nov 11, 2009 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

The by-poll results once again prove the fact that Indians do not generally like those who fail to govern. I am not a great fan or supporter of Sonia-led Congress - but one must admit that the Congress is carrying out the business of governing, whatever their policy may be. On the other hand, both the BJP and the Left (especially the Left) have lost the will to govern. Hence, the comparatively good results for the Congress, and rout for the Left.

Election results - Congress has nothing to rejoice
by vijaya kumar on Nov 11, 2009 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

BJP is already a dead party. Forget about them. Rahul Baba's congress kicked out of UP by Mayawati. Rajbabar winning Firozabad is not a congress victory, as Rajbabar was appealing to voters in the name of his religion. CPM is kicked out of WB by TMC not by Congress. If congress constested without TMC they would have not been able to win a single seat at WB. Despite alliance with TMC congress lost 1 seat in WB. In Rajasthan it seems that the marching forward of congress has stopped. One seat was won by BJP and congress won one seat with reduced margin. In kerala there is no alterative other than Congress. Every five year people their want a change.

IT IS A VICTORY OF TWO LADIES MAYAWATI AND MAMTA. Regional parties are winning.

Congress vote share is decreasing ?
by vijaya kumar on Nov 11, 2009 11:57 AM  | Hide replies

Re: Congress Revival
The real fact is that Congress lost 1 seat in WB and 5 assembly seats in UP. Ferozabad is won by Rajbaber due to enmass voting by a particular community in his favour, the vote bank which was earlier favouring S.P. In Rajasthan marching forward of congress seems to have come to stop as BJP won one seat and other seat won by congress at a reduced margin. So Rahul baba required to work hard to make a strong vote bank. During the last Assembly elections of Haryana, Maharastra and Arunachal pradesh even though congress won arithmatically all the states, the percentage of vote has been reduced considerably. In terms of LS constituencies of these three states congress lost 5 LS seats compared to last LS election.
