What ever rubish has been written about the Great Master Musician after his death is not at all in good taste. It is not in the Hindusthani culture to write such non sense when a person dies. Khan saheb ke umar ka aur Ijjat ka bhi kuchh lihaj karo. After all , he was a PADMA VIBHUSHAN ! The Indian classical music lovers will ever remember Ali AKbar Khan and his great contribution to the Indian CLassical Music. Let the God give peace to the departed soul.
this is the same tribe on this forum which is the one which spreads the anti-muslim diabtribe... I wish rediff would have some sort of censorship..some genuine condolence messages are being mixed with messages from morons and idiots who have gone to school but received no education. Wake up rediff !

It is a personal loss to me. It is Khan Sahib's Jaunpuri in 3 minutes 78 rpm record ushered me to the world of eternal music.i have yet to hear such melodious tune at my age 79 years. R.K. Guha.
My condolences. Is he in some way related to Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, another Sarod Maestro who has two sons Aman and Ayan. Can some one share information?

Dear Mr.Sanjay Sood,
Ustad Shri Amjad Ali Khan Saheb was the illustrious son of an illustrious father Baba Allaudin Khan Saheb (B.1862?-D.1972); the doyen of the "Maiher" Gharana of the Hindustani Classical Music. Ustad Shri Ali Akbar Khan Saheb has an younger sister (b.1926),hereself a virtuoso Satar Maestro herself was the first wife of Pandit Ravi Shankar who was the "Shishya" of Late Baba Allaudin Khan Saheb.
My sincere tributes to the late Ustad Shri Akbar Ali Khan Saheb. Though i had had no opportunity to meet him or attend his concert, my ears are filled with the sound of the Satar which he played.
Ustad Shri Ali Akbar Khan's son is Aashish Khan, also an accomplished Sarod performer.
The answer to your query about whether he was anyway related to Ustad Amjad Ali Khan saheb, the answer is no. Amjad Ali Khan is a son of a Sarod Maestro Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan (1888-1972).
