If our country has enough quality insitutions.....
by Yodha on Jun 03, 2009 04:03 PM

then why would anybody go to foreign lands for education.

However, we will have to wait for 5 more years to vote in a sane government, which will do this.

We Indians are good at waiting, so lets wait our this 5 years.

if you fall into the hands of devdoots from this heaven, chances are that you may end up in real heaven (or hell, as per your doings)..

keep away, rather than regret it in a heavenly hospital with apsara-like nurses..

then you will not feel like guru, but like a chela (i.e.if you survive the attack)..

there are thousands of better and safer places..

you are an idi0t..

even if you do study, do not even look at girls in phots also, do not drink (even if you stop drinking water), wear the most normal dress..it is going to make no difference to the racist thugs who are doing these attacks..

attacks are just because of the color of the skin..you cannot change that, so the attacks will remain..

agree 100 % with JGN..

people going to australia in name of studies are not actually students, they are PR seekers..

best thing is boycott australian education..

australian education has been hyped by touts in india who get a fat commission for every student that falls for the trap..

so, keep away the consultants touting australian education , stay away from seminars arranged by them..

in short, stay away from anything that spells australian..

Economic migrants and not students
by HARDFACTS on Jun 03, 2009 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

Education in India is much cheaper and better. Students going to Australia to study are actually economic migrants who have no confidence in their own country providing them a means of living. So they pretend to go to 'study' and actually work and stay on hoping for PR status. Can this fact be denied?

I AGREE WITH RIVKA MISHRA & U; yes excellent Engg institutes/ Business schools are available in India; but does it mean our students must be attcked in OZ? Why AUS govt / Aus universities are calling Indian students to study in OZ? to kill them?

rivka

it does not justify attackes..

but staying away from such scumlands is the best option..

also, we should keep away australian cricketers from IPL also..

this will make news in australia as it is big money and someone being denied it will go a long way..

we cannot expect a decent behaviour from descedents of thugs, criminials, rapists, murderers deported from UK..

Ultras
by truthaboutlies on Jun 03, 2009 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

its a well known fact that racism exists in this whole world, and there is Ultras all over europe and every one knows that, European states like Russia/U.K/Italy/France/Spain/Germany treats thier fellow europeans from the east as second class Human beings and they r often targetted by the ultras and skin heads and they face more discrimination like any other foreigners, so in short Indians are not the only person who r targetted outside thier country. There was wide spread attack against all the foreigners in Russia in recent times and every one was targetted africans/eastern europeans/asians etc. The people who visit russia as students are adviced to stay inside thier campus and not to move around after evening.
In India people r facing discrimination on basis of religion/caste and language. MNS activists are attacking non-marathies, Kannadigans hates tamilians and vise versa.
In the metro cities like Bangalore u'll b targetted by the police if ur cas has non-karantaka number plates and they will ask for money to release ur vehicle , if u go to any govt offices they wont give much attention if u r not a local person and we are worried about racism in australia!
I believe most of the recent attacks were done by the criminals who needs money to support thier drug habits.

There may be racism and prejudice all over the world, but this does not mean we souldn't speak out against it.

If you think that racist violence and discrimination on any grounds is the normal state of things, may I also remind you that we are all human beings. We have to remember that our greatest achievements are a lasting peace amongst nations, not a continued war against all those who are different from us in insignificant ways.

indian cities r more dangerous then any other place, am living outside india and i can see women moving around alone and as a group even after midnight, they are not attacked or raped , can u give me any city or place in India where women can travel alone or as group after midnight with out the fear of being attacked or raped??
Foreign tourists are contstantly attacked or raped all over india,a murder case involving Goan politician's son is still unsolved and the victims are targetted by the politician and his gang, we dont give human rights and respect for others and we expect them to give us respect?
as an indian living abroad i normaly prefer to speak in low voice with my freinds or collegues in Public places or when am infront of the locals , i think its just a part of respecting the local population and thier language, most of the europeans think talking loudly as a disrespect and they would easily get offended

If most of the attacks were done by criminals, how does it make the whole issue one involving racism?...

6 stray cases amongst a student population of 95000 is statistically significant?... Just some questions...

These are not 6 stray attacks....

A senior diplomat at the Indian High Commission in Canberra told Economic Times (30 March 2009) that in the last six months, there have been 500 cases of assault on Indian students, registered by the police authorities across Australia. Racism cannot be ruled out as a motive, but I am fully aware that it is a minority of Australians which probably have racist views.

It seems to me that you suffer from the delusion that being racist and criminal is contradiction in terms.

I do not think Indian students are attacked with screwdrivers on a Melbourne train because they lack manners. I am more inclined to think that the attackers lack every sense of humanity.

Calling people Maaki or the inverse acting as a cooli (in words or in attitudes) - and the result is getting curry bash - then please do shut up.
