we wont get anything out of an apology from kevin rudd
by wizardo id on Jun 02, 2009 05:13 PM

kevin rudd apologizing for the attacks is kind pointless. i dont think he should have apologized in the first place. its not a wilful attacks by his countrymen. bad apples exist everywhere.

we need to see some people arrested and punished. that's about it.

They deserved it
by Sandy Mandy on Jun 02, 2009 04:54 PM  | Hide replies

Indians who go to USA or Australia or anywhere in foreigen nations have one thing in Mind that INDIA is inferior and they will get superior by getting a foreigen degree, once they do it, they come back with additional egos and show to fellow friends as if they are the ones who deserve extraordinary identity. Most of these students, when get settled with education and find good jobs overseas, never turn back to their homeland unless their asses are on target. They dont remember their homeland for the rest of their lives and just visit once or twice to meet on family occasions or some property issues etc. When these unfaithful INDIANS get treated like dogs overseas then they remember their Bharat Mata. Then they also remember that they were INDIANS. Lots of massacares and injustices are also done to our fellow countrymen within our own country, but these scoundrels sitting in foreigen lands dont even care to see what their homeland is going through, Mumbai Blasts, Delhi Blasts and everything was shattared here in our nation last year, where these scoundrels were sleeping in AUSTRALIA? they on these grave incidents should have shown solidarity to our fellow citizens here who died in these incidents.. but who cares, when dollars magnetic are heavy who bothers for fellow INDIANS, so let them have kicks in their asses, they deserved it. They too must have done shits, which prompted Aussies there..so let them enjoy !!!

Dude, get a life. I haven't read anything more meaningless and childish before. So u expect people to hop on a plane every time there is a bomb blast.....and ......then do what ???BTW...was there much you did during then.

I have been in Melbourne for 7 years and I am surprised to find our media in this state. It is true that street violence here is on the rise, however, its not racial. Anyone there would cop the same. These people are way more welcoming then most around.

Graham Staines and his two little sons were burnt alive in India. North Indians get attack in Mumbai. Muslims are killed in Gujrat. Christians burnt in Orrisa. Sikhs were killed in 1984.

India is no better ..... perhaps even worse. Its like pot calling the kettle black. Indians are safer in Australia than in India.

Nobody denies that there problems in India. Does that give anybody the right to beat up an innocent Indian student?

I think you fail to realize that all these attacks, both in India and in Australia, have been committed by mobs. It is right for Indian students to expect the Australian authorities to protect them. Maybe if one of your family were in Australia, you might be persuaded to think differently.

Safty of non natives
by kuldip uppal on Jun 02, 2009 04:34 PM

Strictly speaking non natives can never feel safe anywhere in world coming from anywhere to stay/work/study/sight seeing or any other purpose. If that was the case the world would not be divided in so many small and big countries and opportunities for earning livlyhood vary from place to place. locals or natives always feel that others are treasspassing in their safe area and conflcit begins of right to stay.

AFTER RACISM IT'S TIME FOR POLICE BRUTALITY
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jun 02, 2009 04:33 PM  | Hide replies

The visuals shown in the news channel yesterday is anything to go by, wherein, peaceful protestors mostly students were dragged by the police in utter contempt of the civil norms. One student was seen lifted by ten policemen. In one case, one student was about to be fainted and was not in a position to stand but he was brutally assaulted and dragged by the policemen. It reminds us of the atrocities of any rogue police in the world. Auz police would behave in that fashion, nobody in Indian was willing to believe. But it happened in Queensland. It was a sheer cruelty and it just go to confirm that all is not well in Auz for the Indians to live. They are certainly racists and the feelings are growing day by day with reports of attack on the Indians are happening on daily basis. Unless the Govt there bring in strong legislative measures, then it would be impossible for the virus of racial hatred to be contained. It would spread like the swine-flue. Then it would become uncontrollable. India would like Auz govt to act fast and reassure the Indians that they are safe there. Otherwise, it would affect the bilateral relations with that govt and in the event of such a thing happening, then Auz would stand to loose the goodwill of the Indian tourists nay the Asian tourists as well. It is time for the authorities there to deal with the situation firmly to send a very strong message to perpetrators of the heinous crime of racism that they would be shown no mercy in the event of arrest.

australia is not generally raist.
of the claimed 7 attacks only 4 can be considered racist .

i wouldnt call the rest racist but would rather call them the way aussie pm called it
"urban violence" .

consider a taxi driver gettin beaten up by a drunk passenger .
that nerd would have done the same if it were anyone.

yet i would agree there is racism in some of the population there . the aussie govt should take curb these attacks on the foreigners .

the brutality of the police is not forgiveable. since the matter has be conveyed to the aussie govt by our govt . i hope the aussie govt will have the officers balls for breaking into a peaceful rally.

and we should not call a country racist just because of a few perverted citizens of theirs.
