If you had followed Kargil war closely, you would have known that our brave, young and ferocious army officers 'willingly' made supreme sacrifice not for salary or benefits.. but for the NATION and PRIDE and more for 'VENGENCE' against porkistan. They willing climed up the hills fully knowing that they would meet with sure death and may get shot in the face. They did not have to do it for salary or benefits. It is because of Indian army and our support to them, Porkistan can not wage a direct war with us. Let us salute them and do not even think of thinking light of them. Jai Hind. Jai Jawan.

the cost of fighter plane
by VENURAJA Bowenpalle on Jul 26, 2009 03:56 PM  | Hide replies

All pilots should remeber the cost of fighter plane they are piloting.
It is not a toy.
Fighters like MIG cost may be more than 10 crores and the new advanced one's cost about 50 crore Rupees.
Many pilots are dying either because they could not control a MIG fighter or because of technical faults even without fighting in any war.
Even then pilots should always remember the costs involved in a reckless manner of using the fighter plane.
I pay my homage to all Kargil martyrs.
Ajay Ahuja also sacrificed his life but he made a mistake in the midst of war ! He searched for his friend right in the eye of the enemy so to say.
Otherwise Afghan mercenaries could not have shot down his plane. It was an unwise act to search for his frined's parachut dropping on the enemy side of the battle front of Kargil when there was no such need or any specific orders from superiors to do it.

And what was the purpose of such a search ? His friend had already ejected on the Pakistan side according to the radio information Ajay was listening.

It was unfortunate that Ajay's plane was also shot and that he was caught by Afghan mercenaries who are simly animals.

The other one(Ajay's friend) Nachiketa ,I think was caught by Paki forces ,so he was shown on Paki T.V. and also he was respected and survived.

A professional soldier would respect the enemy alive or dead because as you fight for your country your enemy fights for his country.

"costs involved in a reckless manner of using the fighter plane" ?????

dude , one just have to sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet to be overwhelmed by the complex scene hundreds of controls and displays. one cant help admiring the kind of people piloting such a machine at speeds we cant imagine.
It is easy to dissect a situation sitting comfortably at safety and blabber as you are doing now.
also remember that many military pilots have lost their lives in the delay of piloting their planes out of populated areas to save us civillians rather than ejecting to safety.
think before you talk

My dear friend ,it is very easy to comment from a comfortable chair on what a fighter pilot should do but when you are in a position when you have half a second to decide, you use your best judgment. And again in forces camaraderie means some thing. Ajay was unfortunate that he was shot but he could have very well rescued Nachiketa also had he been lucky.Salute to all those heroes who sacrificed their lives for motherland. May God bless us with true patriotism.

Salary? They get dogs salary which is approximately less than a third of what their contemporaries get in civil jobs. Ofcourse, it's their duty to fight the enemy. It needs a true patriotic and fighting spirit. They can't resign as and when they want like people do in civil jobs as soon as one finds even a little difficulty. If they don't fight at the Borders people like you will be enslaved again along with the whole country. Ofcourse govt should take care of people's food supplies. There won't be people to feed if the armed forces are not taken care. Pay your taxes properly and stop wasting food as your contribution towards feeding all the people.

Brave Ajay Ahuja
by bonty on Jul 26, 2009 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

Myself and Ajay Ahuja were class fellow in engineering college, staying in adjacent rooms, doing electrical engg. But he was very brave and always wanted to become a Fighter Pilot. Through NDA exam and after rigorus medical test he joined Air Force leaving college in first of electrical engg. Though I have not kept much contact with him except meeting in some party or marriage. I was abroad when through TV I came to know about his supreme sacrifice for the country.

What I want to say is that had he decided to remain in engg. he would have been living in some big city in India or Abroad enjoying life like all of us and writing some stupid messages cursing servicemen but because of his pariotism he took all the pain and gave away his life so that we all could remain in peace.

Think of the great sacrifice he has done for the country and write some good messages solacing his family and encourage young ones.

What's happening to this nation?
by sdfgdfsgdfg dfgdfgsdfg on Jul 26, 2009 02:13 PM  | Hide replies

Its only certain days - Republic Day, Independence Day and now this Kargil Day that V choose to remember our heroes. If probed of this mistake, the sword precisely shud fall on the media who has all the time in the world to cover the glam world and the politicians whose continuous coverage of getting garlanded, addressing masses, cutting ribbons and filthy speaces on opposition gives them too much of limelight.
Precisely, how many politicians have actually sactificed themselves the way as oldier does? How many politicians have been killed in terror attacks?
All this bcoz they have ensured that there's no dearth of security for themselves.
Y don V fellow citizines cry at a fellow citizne's demise? Is the sacrificer and his near ones not our brothers/ sisters? Is it that V've bcum so callous bcause som1 from our own family is not amogst the dead?
Its precisely bcoz of this disunity among us all citiznes that V've been taken for granted by the politicians for granted. Its only V the common man who suffers bcoz V collectively do naot take them to task and make them answerable/ accountable to them on a day 2 day basis.
Y does a petty criminal being kileld in a police lock up, while a politician gets away among delays in inquity commissions and justice processes? R the laws of this country any different from tehse hard core criminals, just bcoz they have some political connections?
Its bout time V the people do not just exercise our rights once in 5 years, but daily

Well oiled machinery, thats what congress is. from peon to president every one has a percentage fixed , every weapon bought , every contract award , every licence auctioned has a price. Agency network is well established , banking system works without a glitch and the money can travell thousands of miles without anyone noticing.
race , religion , reservation, defence, nuclear deal everything is for a purpose. Poor ambani's are competing with each other and congress gets an oppurtunity to make some money for itself. (congress bay bidding ends soon , highest bidder mukesh ambani, anil make your bid now)
growth rate of congress is around 20-40% of india's GDP in the year 2009-2010.
They want to cross the 50% growth rate by next year. The results are likely to exceed market expectations as they get a cut of all defense deals.
Secular they are ,they dont follow any religion they just exploit everybody.
They have perfected the art of governance and their next slogan is "congress ki garibo hatao, vote karo aur bhol jao"
still better "jab tak suraj chand rahega switzerland main account chalega"

When did Feroze Gandhi became Hindu? Please enlighten us - sanghis.
Only Cangress, owned and run by Gandhis is stable not India.
Under Cangress rule ( P.V Narshima rao) only India had mortgage countrys gold to get a loan.
