Ajay Ahuja
by bonty on Jul 26, 2009 10:12 PM  | Hide replies

Myself and Ajay Ahuja were class fellow in engineering college, staying in adjacent rooms, doing electrical engg. But he was very brave, very intelligent and always wanted to become a Fighter Pilot. Through NDA exam and after rigorus medical test he joined Air Force leaving college in first of electrical engg. Though I have not kept much contact with him except meeting in some party or marriage. I was abroad when through TV I came to know about his supreme sacrifice for the country.

What I want to say is that had he decided to remain in engg. he would have been living in some big city in India or Abroad enjoying life like all of us and writing some stupid messages cursing servicemen but because of his pariotism he took all the pain and gave away his life so that we all could remain in peace.

Think of the great sacrifice he has done for the country and write some good messages solacing his family and encourage young ones.

It is high time we had military rule in this country, for at least a decade, to get rid of the corrupt, inefficient, self-seeking, anti-national politicians and bureaucrats of the country

Please do not write false information. Musharraf visited India after Kargil, for the first time ostensibly to watch cricket, on the invitation of MMS. He later reciprocated by inviting MMS to porkistan, where they gave the joint statement of 'mohabbat zindabad'. Of course it was the mohabbat of MMS for porkistan, as evident from the inaction after 26/11.

Though military rule has its own possible negative effects and will be too bitter to swallow for all sections of the society initially, I think the advantages weigh far higher than the negatives. I agree with Fried yakov. Military rule is the only solution supplemented by formation of civilian army groups at all levels to combat terrorism. I believe military rule is need of the hour.

If not for the monumental blunder of Indira Gandhi and the Congress in 1971, when she failed to attach all of PoK, the Kargil episode would not have occured and so many lives lost. The blunder of 1971 was the reason for Kargil. Also, the Congress over the years, failed to preent Pakistan from developing nuclear capabilty, and so Pakistan is now able to resort to nuclear blackmail

Dr. Dung - For your information, Kargil was engineered as misadventure by the rouge Porkistani army even without taking their the then PM into confidence. It was their master plan (which failed miserably due to the supreme sacrifices willingly made by our brave and ferocious soliders) was to occupy the heights escaping from our intelligence eyes. They would have not resorted to a misadventure of that scale if there had been chance to get caught by the Indian Intelligence during early stages. Their designs initially succeeded due to their cheating nature. There was an understanding that those positions should be vacated by both the sides during winter. porkistan simply violated that on one hand whilst shaking the hands with Mr. Vajpayee on the other hand. SO let us not blame any Indian for Kargil. We need to stand united and learn the lessons. If had done so, there would have been no 26/11 attack. Let us shun internally divisive nature and blame game. If we need to hate or blame or fight it is with one common enemy.. that is porkistan.

Once in a while rdiff gives us some good stuff too!
The military profession is filled with a lot of pride and honor, and that is because it requires you to lay your life when the situation demands. What our country keeps forgetting tis that this is true for all professions. Only that the other professional practices have become so corrupt that no one follows it.

Criminal System!
by Ram Sharma on Jul 26, 2009 06:24 PM

It is really distressing to hesr that the dependents of the ex servicemen who laid down their lives in klargil and other conflicts, have to run from pillar to post and have to BRIBE the civil administration to get OK for the gas agency/petrol pump/other benefits approved for them...

Though 90% of our Central/state govt officials and clerks are corrupt, but those who compel such dependents to give bribe, should be publicly HANGED, evn before Afzal Guru/kasab.

I am sure many Indians will endorse this idea!
