Kargil War
by Souri Sengupta on Jul 27, 2009 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

Lets not bring Politics and Political parties into this discussion as has been done by some. Our valiant soldiers and officers fought gallantly with our enemy and we won the war. Many laid down their lives for the Country. We must acknowledge their contribution, respect the sentiment of the family and pray for them and accept that they died for us. We must also keep remembering that because of India Army Navy and Air Force we the civilians go home everyday to be with our families, have a good meal and sleep safely. Hats off to the services jawans who live in -50 degrees C weather to make our life safe and comfortable. Jai Jawans. Kargil is gone but ther is no guarantee that it won't happen again and hence politics should be kept out of it while paying homage to the great soldiers and martyrs.

Answers!!!
by Ravi krishnan on Jul 27, 2009 11:58 AM

Kargil was and is an integral part of India. The paki infiltrators were deep within our our country when we realised and decided to evacuate them and throw them back. I believe the entire war was staged within the sovereign boundary of India. In these lines I have require some answers:
1.Why was the famed Airforce not used exclusively to Bomb them out?
2.Soldiers have scaled huge cliffs while the pakis were at the top and picking them up like flies. Why were men asked to do this while armed helicopters and fighter planes could have done the damage with ease?
3.Are we really scared of the Pakis?
4.Look at the way the US fought Iraq. Using only airstrikes they decimated Iraq with minimal loss of life to their own soldiers. Why are we scared to do this? makes me believe that we are indeed a land of Half naked Fakirs and saints who take Gandhiji's Non-Violence preaching seriously.
5. Is Our so called Mighty arsenal of impressive weapons only for displaying during a stupid parade? Is the life of a Soldier only about presenting some pieces of coloured ribbons and some chakras while their families die of Hunger and poverty?

Finally, Is the taxpayers money being used to our benefit?

Can someone please clarify to me( maybe A SOLDIER can)?

Its so sad our soldiers has to die like this,
by delguy on Jul 27, 2009 07:05 AM  | Hide replies

I am so frustrated, an enemy comes in my country, attacks my country and my country can not dare to attack them fittingly. Our airforce wasnt used in 1962 and so was in Kargil. why, because we are afraid of Pak, not, but because we like to be called "bechare" and always look for sympathy and sacrifice. I hope our defence forces, if not yet corrupted and not unionized and not castesied, should take their decisions in fighting enemy. Pak will never ever be good to India, I know this, everybody knows this,,but....

Friend,
The Armed Forces of India is the most horrible since a decade. Boot Licking etc has come into effect and thus chamchagiri has also come into force. Shame on Indian Armed Forces who still call themselves glorified ahen their future is in the hand of selfish politicians??
