I live in New York. Once we had a social meeting in our office. It was like a round table gathering of 10 to 15 people and introducing each other from different project groups.
People had to introduce themselves and talk about their hobbies. This Andhra guy, to everyone’s surprise and amusement , said ‘I like to get drunk, eat Biryani and watch hometown movie’.

Agreed Indians need to change a lot - but if someone can beat you up just because they did not like your mannerisms....it just shows how ignorant & intolerant Australians are.. There are better ways, like complaining to authorities instead of taking law into their own hands

well, seems like u never went out of India. if they are intolerant as you think, we sould have had very bad time. wetsrrn countries are most progressive because they are very tolerant people, in fact opposite of muslims. we indians are kind of in between western world and muslims.

U southies eat fermented curd rice in a/c canteens in the US.. why blame other state ke public?
To be very honest, I know little about this rambal. I read the messages posted here also. All these are just so childish that I am speechless. talking abt itli-dosa, oil on hairs, watching woman, ring tones of mobile phone. Boys grow up and talk with some better logic.
Hurting ppl is wrong no matter if they are aussie , no matter what the reason is.
Economic slowdown is hurting everywhere. I am not telling ppl to follow gandhigiri but ppl keep reporting such action by law.

I've seen lot of mallus & southies in Singapore & the way most of them behave is pathetic. the way they speak loudly on phones, No one in other parts of India would bear, still Singaporeans r cool hearted these mallus go away creating nuisance. Better they understand public behaviourial manners or get the rewards as in Australia.
'going to a university with no computers' if this is the situation why you are lining for the Australian visa. Stay in India.... My dear it is straight forward simple.. no India (especially from Punjab are in Australia for study. They are there to make easy money and show their superiority back home.

come on guys.. don't be nationalistic. being patriotic is fine but nationalistic behavior is bad.
Ishanth, are u the one who loves to eat idli and sambaar with hands in front of people? or have a big naam (om) on forehead on Ayyappa pooja day? one guy in our office was famous for using coconut oil. americans used to call him coconut gel.

Following your re1igion is different from having some basic mannerisms
Westerners are broadminded enough to allow people to follow their re1igion and culture on their land, but anyone can be put off by lack of personal hygiene and dirty behaviour
