Its true.
by Chandrashekhar Kulkarni on Jul 13, 2009 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

My friends and relatives in Australia too echoed the same sentiments.

The tone was like - 'they invite it by acting smart in public.'

Indians used to nonsense in public and lack of civic sense usually this treatment in India as well.

If my relatives misbehave in public or show lack of civic sense, then they too would be eligible for a bash-up by another uncivilised fellow.

this is not a bad thing. when we understand our own mistake and try to improve ourselves, the whole country can change. we dont need to say YES to what other indian does in foreign land. we should see what is right and what is wrong and if someone is wrong, we should come out frankly against our fella indian.

we can't be like Mu11has who support their cause blindly.

Pl go and say this to Australians who attacked first.
Manners and social behaviors are always subjective and they always change with respect to time. Do you want to say all australians behave very great and there is no crime in Australia ? I have not heard some any thief/rapist/corrupted australian person attacked like this.

Hope you understand the difference and not debate just for debating

Wrong is wrong, whether in Australia or India.

We just can't protest because they are Indians. If they are wrong, then they are wrong. Period!

And who told you they are wrong ? Just one person and again so many students who are attacked ? You are behaving funny. I can understand one odd incident.

Understand that it is not because of behaviour but because Indians taking jobs of them in their land. And I am proud of that because this represents Indian intelligence and hardwork

hair care
by messenger on Jul 13, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Wash your hair few times a week and get a hair cut regularly!

Coconut oil suits only Indian weather, when abroad if you want to use it, just use before showering not after that...it smells!!
And never apply oil espec when your hair is unclean....

i really loved this comment. i noticed in the USA a lot from our indian group.

one guy from tamilnadu even had a big naam on his forehead one day. in our office, all Americans thought he had injury on his forehead so he had applied bandaid.

also, they sit around round table and put hand in someone else's box (dabba) to taste. this is mostly with Tamil and Telugu people.

Having a naam on his forehead is his belief & culture, it is equivalent to someone wearing a cross ....
I have also heard comments like.."you Indians do not believe your own culture & traditions, that is why you do not follow it like other countrymen ( or re1igious groups) ).

I agree with keeping the hair clean though, looks and personal hygiene is given a lot of importance abroad ( in India too, look at how well disciplined elderly people dress), it is important to remember that just to avoid any embarrassing comments.

When you are abroad, you are representing India.
They judge your country by your behavior.
That's a responsibility, behave well.

Do not OGLE at women or anyone for that matter!!

OGLING and staring is the worst of habits of Indians...they do not even realize that they are staring at people.

Western women complain of Indians Ogling at them, and have no respect for such people.

Have a shower in the morning? Apply soap? Deodorant can give you 'good' smell for a while, but not a clean body. Many westerners don't take shower in the morning and I find that repulsive. Same goes for all the Indians that don't shower in the morning. "It's cold" is not an excuse. You're dirty the whole day if you don't clean your body in the morning.

Should I also say, take a shower? I am assuming people do...
But using deodrants is not very common among Indians, it is taken for gratned....deodrants work for 24hrs..underarm smell is the worst of the lot
