NSG is dumb as a brick
by Sharad on Aug 31, 2008 12:49 PM

It is funny how these jokers, Austria, New Zealand are concerned about India. The biggest proliferator is sitting inside the NSG, that is CHINA. It has successfully created two nuclear states, Pakistan and N Korea. What a bunch of stupid and naive people on earth.

Nuclear deal is not needed
by indiman on Aug 31, 2008 10:47 AM

The NSG is doing a good thing for India. We dont need this deal. We are better off being the mavericks. We dont need to gang up with these fools. The longer they keep us out the more they looose.

During the Hyde Act debate, Obama moved an amendment calling for fuel stocks only adequate for the normal operation of Indian reactors, not to build a 'strategic fuel reserve'. I thought this Obama was better than this.

Bidwai, first and foremost, you are nothing more then an extreme left wing traitorous militant who has declared that "India should NOT be a superpower". You said this even as China progresses in leaps and bounds. This is your main reason for opposing the nuclear deal, you do not want India to rise with China. In addition, as an extreme left wing traitorous militant, you have also declared that China has never threatened India. In addition, also as an extreme left wing traitorous militant, you have nothing to say about Chinese incursions into Indian territory. So ALL OF YOUR opposition stems for not wanting India to be an equal to China. You traitorous little left wing creep.

Amen, Thatha Asthu, Teek Kaha, Sach bholiya.

His logic: For 50 years India championed nuclear disarmament then when none listened, India too got itself nuclear armed. Therefore,India's credibility is in tatters!! In the wild West towns, where everyone carried a gun, Christian Priests too were armed. Priests do preach against guns.

This Bidwai man is NOT a realist, merely a marxist. Has too many "blind-spots" in his perceptions.

Nuke Deal
by b r on Aug 30, 2008 10:05 PM

Now the left parties will shout from housetops.

It is a shame that the Congress party fell for the trap laid carefully by the US.

Now they will have to say yes to whatever clauses the NSG puts, after making name sake noises.

God save the country from such nuke power brokers.

Opposition is an eyewash- N deal will pass through safely
by Rajendra Nayak on Aug 30, 2008 09:05 PM  | Hide replies

There are 150 million plus Indians who have capacity to purchase and which fool of a politician or a businessman want to raise voice against N- deal. Whatever blah blah said is an eyewash.
This is because world business is in doldrums and only Indian middle class can save the world economy.
It is high time to start planning for acquiring land and make plans for transmission of power. Dollars, Euros and Pound are dangling in front of every world politician and every body will pass the N-deal.

We again say that MMS and Company are selling our country. Who gave permission to Congress leaders to give classified advertisment, "India on Sale"? Legal experts say that an Italian Sardar cannot sell our India.

Super Power
by Water on Aug 30, 2008 02:06 PM

USA is a super power, he don't like another country becoming a competitor for this position. But China is in full force at this time with financial strength and might of military. USA's N-Deal is a part of entry to get a strong base in India to counter China.

What is civil and civilized about the deal?
by Rajan Sodankur on Aug 30, 2008 12:46 PM

Hang the deal I say. What is the locus standi of these nations who formed a cartel of their own, slept thru the illegal proliferation of nuke technology and weapons thru Pakistan, closed its eyes on Pak's ISI's terror activities, hyped the "plight and human rights of " of Kashmir terrorists, ignored the innocent Kashmiri victims and Hindu refugees, captured former dictators of smaller nations and imprisoned or hanged thru International or local court proceedings, never brought super power bullys who killed thousands in Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, Vietnam to face the international law and justice for their foreign sabotage and war crime activities, killed or maimed thoudands in proxy wars in Sudan,Palestine, Kashmir,North East India, Sri Lanka? Dear Mother India, MIGHT is RIGHT, don't beg others for favors, stand on your own feet of COAL and RENEWABLE RESOURCES.

indo-us civil nuclear deal
by biswanath roy on Aug 30, 2008 12:30 PM  | Hide replies

US nuclear power firms are banking so much on this deal becoming operative, so that they can do prolific business in India. As USA has stopped building new nuclear power plants in their own country for the last 25 years, these firms namely Westinghouse & General Electric, who have lots of clout, in their own interest, will try their level best to see the deal thru NSG & American congress. Maybe we have to compromise on certain points, language of the new draft will be camouflaged in such a manner (Shiv Shanker Menon is sitting in Washington for this very specific purpose), that our dear PM will be able to save his face. So dont worry there is still hope for all of us who want India to be firmly in the American camp.
