Good article
by Krish on Sep 02, 2011 10:37 PM  | Hide replies

Good article but not backed by hard evidence though. The author is not to be blamed for this. That is the problem with all our mythological texts. All based on smrti and oral traditions. And none of the modern Indian archaeologists or historians have taken the pains to excavate ancient sites and know the truth. Partly because there is a paucity of archaeologists in India. The general mood is "who cares?". We just have to switch on the History channel and know how much the western archaeologists have done to uncover the truth about their heritage and culture.

Proving the historicity of Ram
by onkar singh on Feb 22, 2009 01:26 AM

This is an excellant article written by Dr.Satyapal Singh, which demonstrates his tremendous analytical skill and thorough knowledge about the subject. While going through the comments i found many people criticising him on some or the other useless irrelevant reason. There must be some minimum code of conduct for descency while expressing their views that too when the author is a highly learned person, receipent of President's Police medal, well known for his problem-solving, honesty, sincerety and dedication. I am not a very religious person but we indians must take pride that ,Ram born in our country.Ram is worshipped in whole south east asia including muslim countries like malayasia & indonesia.
Mr singh has compiled the loose ends of evidences which were lyeing scattered. His findings are based on records available right from the vedas to the latest Sattelite picture.
There may be some differences over the calculation of exact time when Rram born, but the real issue is his exsistnce .There is no doubt that Ram just not exsist in myths but in reality too.May be soon we may be able to know the exact date also, as the new technological knowledge unfolds

HISTORICITY OF RAM
by chitra hariharan on Nov 19, 2008 04:04 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Author,

I have read the article "PROVING THE HISTORICITY OF RAM" VERY GOOD ARTICLE INDEED FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE EXISTENCE OF SHRI RAM. BUT I HAVE GOT ONE DOUBT IN YOUR CALCULATION OF YEARS BASED ON THE CHATURYUGI.

YOU HAVE STATED THAT IF RAM EXISTED IN THE END OF 24TH CYCLE OF TRETA YUG THEN HE EXISTED SOME 1,81,49,108 YEARS AGO. BUT IN THIS CASE IF WE DO BACK CALCULATION THE NO. OF YEARS IS AS FOLLOWS:

28TH CYCLE OF CHATURYUGI-38,93,108 YEARS

27TH CYCLE OF CHATURYUGI-43,20,000 YEARS

26TH CYCLE OF CHATURYUGI-43,20,000 YEARS

25TH CYCLE OF CHATURYUGI-43,20,000 YEARS

24TH CYCLE OF CHATARYUGI- 17,28,000 YEARS OF

SATYUG & 12,96,000

YEARS OF TRETA YUG.

SO TOTAL NUMBER OF YEARS WORKS OUT TO 19,87,7108 YEARS INSTEAD OF 1,81,49,108 YEARS. I THINK YOU HAVE LEFT THE SATYUG OF 24TH CYCLE OF CHATURYUGI.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WROMG.

CHITRA HARIHARAN

the kachvai jaipur raj claims to be suryavanshi. its library contains a family tree of this line in which ram figures at 64. their calculation also appears to be based on data in valmikiya ramayan, which places ram some over 7000 years ago. the birth details of ram by valmiki appears more reasonable as he happened to be his contemporary. The story based on 28 chaturyug can be put on backburner till some new uncontrversial evidences emerge.
