The literati of West Bengal has justifiably protested the undemocratic handling of incidents & brutality of administration at Nandigram. It is their duty to invoke social responsibility amongst the diaspora. However, they must not overlook the diehard urgency of industrialisation in a state which has been devoid of any sort of industrial progress for the last thirty years. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya is a reformist face amongst the CPIM mandarins. He has built up an environment for investemnt to pour in. He should be supported from all corners for the effort he & his team are putting in.Incidents like Nandigram, are politically motivated to stall this progress & heckle a person who has enough mettle to swing industry for the cause of Bengal

These intellectuals have now become mature enough to understand what Budhdha babu really is.Till 13th March they have beieved in all the lies he said but once his mask dropped, they have started to realise what a bruatl charected he can be.If he had a bit of self respect,we would have seen him resigning by now.
INDIA which is hiped in many ways , is the worst hit by the astrologers , who lie for there food , if any one is going on astrologers way , i tell u u are doomed and u have no hope to come out in this life and life to come.

well...these astrologers cann't lie more than our CM can.
history has prove that every revolution and change has inherited risk of storming before forming or norming....Thi s storming includes sacrifises,resistance,protest... bengal and leftists is undergoing this phase of storming.. but every dark cloud has a silver linning.. and by the wishes of god...there wud a norming phase soon for bengal to prosper into a indutrially propserous state..were there is enough job for the new generation...the older generation which has moved out cud come in back and help in this development... but every one has to pay some cost to get his/her dreams come true.. But, yes the degree of this pains could be decreased by a good mamangement, control and support.. buyt this support shud come not only for cm, left, left front..but shud be from every person who calls himself banagali... this inlcds..the opposition..else bengal wud move 50 years back ..it is already 30 years backs from others.. so use ur brains, dreams and independant thinking to plan , if u had been bengal cm ..how wud u have done this with all the ground conditions and facts? and then measure and comment. asotoma satgamaya....

diz resident home grown Bongs are IGNORANT of all d development and prosperity happening around... they wud put all there efforts in non value added activities... diz ppl wud hv a feeling of pride in being poor and being jealous of other's hard work and wealth. That's what screwing up the future of the Bengal.... IGNORANCE IS NOT A BLISS ITZ A CRIME
The butchering of 100 innocent villagers at the hands of a dictatorial regime and party is not going to be balanced by a mere resignation.
Let us see if the CBI inquiry reveals who is to resign and who is to Hang. And if the justice system in India capable of implementing the punishment deserved by these murderers.
Today it is 100 innocent farmers who got shot. Tomorrow maybe it could be you.
I repeat here a statement written by a German in the context of Nazi Germany and Hitler.
"First They Came for the Jews First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me."
Pastor Martin Niem?r
My dear fellow country men. It is your duty to speak up. for if you dont: "Tomorrow it could be YOU."

I could not be an IAS due to Mamata Banerjee, the PAGLI. My optional exam day was marked by her Bangla Bandh and i could not reach the exam hall in time from my suburban home. They allowed me to write the exam but I missed 1 and half hour time. I could answer only 2 out of 5 questions in stipulated time. Had I been able to answer one more question, I certainly would have got a call.
This lady has no concern for people. She called bandh recently during exam days.
Bengal has become backward during Jyoti Basu's regime. Present CPm govt is trying to redemp for the past losses of the state. Industrialization is must for bengal. If needed, Mamata should be put to prison for 5 years!

I feel for you but i also feel that Mamata has done a favour to you as you could not become an IAS.In case you would have become and IAS,then this farud Govt and the lier Budhdha would have purchased you and you would have also been a part of the "Secret Trade" with the industrialists. And for your last point, well, when a person who takes the responsibility of shooting and killing people cannot be put into jail, then how can you put Mamata into jail who has the power to change even the higher secondery examination and CBSE examination dates.

Yes our HONEST CM.Please do not resign.Otherwsie who would be respoensible for saying more lies and taking more life of the innocent people in the future?
No doubt Buddha Babu has lost most of the credibility that he had earned when he came back to power. I myself had so much of respects for him though I had minimum sympathy for his party. He started his innings well but in the name of industrialisation he lost all sense. Having been in Bengal for more than 35 years, I knew the industries are spread only in the City, the South and North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Howrah and around Durgapur/Asansol. We never had major industries in other districts, may be one or two here and there. therefore, Buddhababu's preference should have been reopening the hundreds of closed factories in the above destinations rather than going in for new ones. Also with a respected person like him at the helm, people like wanted that instead of giving the land to the industrialists at throw away prices, he should have ensured formation of the co-operative societies with the people who had given land so that the ownership of the land continues to be with the people. Today Bengal needs Buddha Babu but not his policies and the people around. Bengal has one of the top most intellectual group here and it is time he solicits opinion from them and take the state to new heights. He should also understand that giving concessional land, concessional duty, tax etc. after all why you need Tatas to come. Let the state government put up the factories and come to the equity market to raise money. Let us build our own state and does not depend on people like Tata and Salim who are purely money minded. Nandigram chapter should be closed and Buddha Babu should be allowed to think afresh on this.

Well to answer the points raised by you first of all while work in going on in trying to attract investment in the state, parallely work is also going on in reopening the closed industries to name a few Dunlop, revival of IISCO, paper factory in Raniganj..see this would take time and we cant sit and wait for these industries to open and then start bringing in frest investments. these two processes have to go parallely..even if all the closed factories are opend wil it be enough..we are now say in -1 state we would go to 0 state..but are we happy being in 0 state..we need to go further and for that we need new industries..govt wont and shuld not invest in setting up new industries..its not its job..we need capital and we need industrialist..i cant speak on behalf of Salim but please donot doubt the credibility of Tata..we all know Tatas have a great Corporate Social responsibility..look at Jamshedpur and Pune (they have car factorythere)..it speaks volume of Tatas CSR..dont forget TCS is one of the biggest employer in the state..
I have never understand the approach by CPM, in one hand they are against talking agri. land in other parts of the country but in WB it seems to be ok for them. In state level they oppose cong. but in centre they are congress partner with 'SECULAR' slogan.
I rate this CPM as the most c grade political party although they are least corrupted it seems.
RE:CPM in West Bengal
by ritwick sanyal on Mar 19, 2007 06:03 PM
see the difference is at center they are supporting the Govt and not a part of the Govt..in bengal they are the Govt..its much easier to sit on the fence and shout (like we all do on matters related to Indian Cricket) but getting into the business of governance and getting ur hands dirty is a totally diff game..a

In Bengal it might be ...It Kerala they are the pillar of Corruption and Mafia politics and Mr Pinarayi Vijayan, Kodiari Balakrishnan and their former guru M.V Raghavan eptomises this..........
Bengal would sink in the darkness of hopelessness if you resign. The hot headed impractical communists(Barring you, of course) would immediately roll back the industrialization initiatives and go for populist programs to catch votes. Mamata would shout and create nuisance without any sensibile motives for people. You are the only hope for us. Follow your practical ideals and make Bengal the first choice of investment. I am sure that that is your dream and let that come true.
RE:Don't resign, please
by abby Das on Mar 19, 2007 05:38 PM
yes...your dream of making "Secret Trade" with the industrialists and shoot poeople who oppose that.
RE:RE:RE:Don't resign, please
by abby Das on Mar 20, 2007 02:57 PM
well,I do not know from where did you find that I want the opposition into power.Infact as the left front has majority, removing BUdhdha would not change the Govt.I think you have not read my comments properly. To answer your points. To me,Anil Biswas could have been the perfect replacement. As he is not there one person who has a clean image is Khiti Goswami. The party can think of him.Or else they can also think of Gautam Deb.To answer your second point, there are people in the oposition who has intentions to do "Secret Trade" but there are quite a number of people like tathagata Roy,Rahul Sinha etc who would not be hungry to do Trading.
I would request you to read the comment first before properly before concluding anyhting from it.
Either Budhha should step down and ask for CBI inquiry and legal action against himself or he should ask centre to provide Army and finish all the farmers and their families to make way for the big companies.

Of course, it is better this China-man resign. He must understand this is not China, where commarades decide one day to set up something and next bull-dozers are called in. He can go and seek assylum in China. For 25 years you pamper farmers and workers and then one fine day you wake and say no no may be industries are good, hell with farmers, let them starve or worse kill themselves or be killed by state. This is nothing but state sponsored terrorism, scam and human rights abuse in the name of 'development'. If he says he takes responsibility of Nandigram killing, he must step down for the dignity of CM's post.
