@Lucky B....
I think now you are going to say Brahmins invented electromagnetism & its application to industry, generation of electricity, theory of relativity, laws of motion, archimedes principles what not.....in a nutshell the universe. Get your facts right. The number systems wasn't invented by one group. There have been multiple number systems through out the history of civilization....starting with Indian, Egyptian, Persian etc. The current number theory (& algebra, geometry) largely is influenced by what Gauss & other mathematicians of that age did.
P.S: I don't have anything against Brahmins or anyone for that matter.
I just don't like people spreading a bunch of lies around.

@Mysore...
Dude...you don't seem to reading my message.
First, I didn't dispute a number system was created in ancient India....from my very first post. However there have been several number systems since.
Second, there have been lot of very important theories in various fields.....all of which equally deserve the credit for industrialization and 21st century advancements. Lot of these have been contributed by researchers all over the world (outside of India).

@Madhwa Mysore
Evidently you didn't read my post fully well. "theory of relativity, laws of motion, Archimedes principles" were also theories....as were many others that I don't know:).
Besides I am not disputing the genius of some ancient Indians, I am just saying there were others worldwide also. This theory that India or Indians laid the basic theories for all inventions coming later on is pure heresy.
And again fact is the current number system is largely from the work of Gauss & others.....though there were other number systems before. Don't you understand that?

Are you on drugs? The decimal system in use today is totally an invention of HIndus along with the concept of zero.

To Crazy, Hindu haters are abusing Brhamins, I am trying to express my gratitude towards them for their inventions, wisdom and knowledge. When you praise somebody how come it undermine other's inventions?
Without zero there would be no decimal system. Obviously, you don't know what decimal system is. Better you educate yourself.

My dear, zero was invented by the shepherds in India (as a need to show the empty circular area to represent no sheep/cattle inside the room).
Even count was the necessity for shepherds only, for the same reason to mentain the checks on total 'Nung' (live-stock), as got increased on every birth.
According to the wikipedia lots of mathematical invention were done by Guptas during Gupta rule.
RE:Brahmins are the curse on Hinduism

ONE LAST ATTEMPT....
The decimal system was in large part the contribution of ancient Indian mathematicians. OK -- I didn't deny that. Read on.
The current number theory (not just the decimal system.....but including geometry, algebra, complex numbers....etc etc) evolved over a period of time due to the work of many great mathematicians....Gauss being one of them.
I think a big part of the confusion is me using "Number system" (which was interpreted as 'decimal system') instead of "Number theory or say Mathematics". Subtle but very big difference
RE:RE:Brahmins are the curse on Hinduism
by crazyforsense on Jun 06, 2007 03:47 AM
According to wikipedia....lot of others also contributed, most notably Gauss. Anyways I am tired of arguing.

Any kind of hate is bad. Look in the mirror.
I agree it is good to give credit where it is due.
Thanks for implying I don't know the decimal system. Now that we have agreed upon your intellectual superiority....lets get to the point.
Laws of Motion, Bernoulli's principle, Archimedes principle, to name a few (not number system alone)....also have been very critical to 21st century advancements. That is the point.

Spread your evangelism in Church not on Rediff boards. Besides are you really a Christian or pretending to be one to deliberately post spiteful messages about other religions so ppl condemn Christianity more?

Lucky,
it appears that Science of cloning is yet to be included in your text books. A fetus is possible from diploid cell by cloning. If creature(human) can achieve this feat, why Creator can not>??
In an attempt to REFORM, Xtians invented excuses like putting Josephs name as father of Jesus. Jesus did not call to Xtianity, by the way. He called to God. Xtians made him God and started calling the people to him.
Muslims are better beleiver of Jesus. they put him in true perspective. niether less nor more.

Dear John Philips, denying the blood-soaked history of your faith will not help you. Have your forgotten the Inquisition and burning of heathens on the stake? Why go too much into the past -- just google "Rwanda genocide and Church" to see what happened 10 years ago.

Testimony of Historians
For instance, consider the testimony of Flavius Josephus, a first-century Jewish historian who was a Pharisee. He referred to Jesus Christ in the book Jewish Antiquities. Although some doubt the authenticity of the first reference where Josephus mentioned Jesus as the Messiah, Professor Louis H. Feldman of Yeshiva University says that few have doubted the genuineness of the second reference. There Josephus said: %uFFFD[Ananus the high priest] convened the judges of the Sanhedrin and brought before them a man named James, the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ.%uFFFD (Jewish Antiquities, XX, 200) Yes, a Pharisee, a member of the sect many of whose adherents were avowed enemies of Jesus, acknowledged the existence of %uFFFDJames, the brother of Jesus.%uFFFD

Dude these are clear forgeries inserted by church conmen in 5th century. These books were earlier copied by hand and the church had a monopoly on books production. These forgeries were inserted by the church to claim historical proof of Jesus. See www.jesusneverexisted.com.

After summarizing the references to Jesus Christ and his followers by the historians of the first two centuries, The Encyclop%uFFFDdia Britannica (2002 edition) concludes: %uFFFDThese independent accounts prove that in ancient times even the opponents of Christianity never doubted the historicity of Jesus, which was disputed for the first time and on inadequate grounds at the end of the 18th, during the 19th, and at the beginning of the 20th centuries.%uFFFD
Justin Martyr, writing in the middle of the second century, wrote in reference to the death of Jesus: %uFFFDThat these things did happen, you can ascertain from the Acts of Pontius Pilate.%uFFFD14 In addition, according to Justin Martyr, these same records mentioned Jesus%uFFFD miracles, regarding which he says: %uFFFDThat He did those things, you can learn from the Acts of Pontius Pilate.%uFFFD15 True, these %uFFFDActs,%uFFFD or official records, no longer exist. Brother John: Like a cunning missinoary, you will keep lying through your teeth. Inquisition was a lie too? There are enough church records to tell how missionaries and priests loved torture of women after stripping them naked.

No wonder, Europeans have got rid of this blood soaked superstition about son of god and his missionaries and are taking to Hinduism, yoga and Buddhism.

No, this movie shouldn't be banned. It is about an individual. It doesn't reflect on the faith.
But a movie made about a hindoos god-man will definitely be banned if it is about his exploitation of the poor because his followers would like to hide behind the lies.

Sure it will. All the Goras in the Vatican go around in their private jets and stretch limos.
Tithe collection is a good way to live a life of luxury without doing a honest day's work.
That is what your son of god story is all about. Convert and then claim ten percent of the income of the income of converts. Then buy car, build a decent home for your self and send half of collection to vatican bank where those farts in Vatican can buy another jet ...
...is spreading hate and setting the country on fire for the sake of power. Despite the electorate giving it the kick all over, they keep coming back for more. lol
