India' sMight!!!
by Saddam H on Jan 27, 2007 05:46 AM  | Hide replies

It is pity to the poor people of India who dont get the two time meal (and pakistan too) whose money is wasted on such parades and the rest of the year people forgt the Nationality and building of nation, but indulge in selfish motives absolutely. I think it is high time that both the porr country disamble the army and put that money in welfare of the respective countries! If there is itch of war then let it be on cricket ground.

hi,strange cant you people thing beyond cricket, well it is right a lot of money is invested on Military. no country can flourish until she had engouh strength to protect herself and in case of India it is proved by history we are being a slave for more than 200 years although we were very rich at that time but our richness doest buy us freedom

Do you forget people like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ? Do not paint all members of a community with the same paintbrush. Abdul Hamid won the PVC. There are a host of eminent muslim officers of the Indian Army and other defence forces who are VERY PROUD INDIANS. The army has seen brilliant officers who were muslims. One good thing left in the forces is that an officer is an officer first, a husband and father nest, a son or brother then, and last comes his community and religion. Let the politicians leave us alone, and we will get over caste and religion, their greatest two weapons to damage the nation.

Dear Mr. Saddam .
I am feeling pity for your such a pity narrow minded thinking and scope. You know your thoughts don't reflect nothin' . We as indians are really very proud of our nation and i assure you all 100 million's in this country will take this nation to far great heights. Our country is such diversified cuturally, that i indeed feel pity for those who do not understand the meaning of this and Republic Day Parade is the most significant Platform from where the world can see the targets that INDIA- AND THE INDIAN'S have set to themselves that they definitey will take this nation to such a place from where everbody can see us with far more respect that what we get today. W.R.T. to your comments on POVERTY, you forgot this is not a country who is far less dependent on LOANS/ASSISTANCE that it used to be in history. THE GIANT (INDIA) HAS AWAKENED AND I SEE A VERY PROSPEROUS FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY IN THE YEARS TO COME BYE....(ALL MY VIEWS DOES NOT NATURALLY ORIGINATE BECAUSE OF MY BEING AN INDIAN BUT WHAT I SEE PRACTICALLY ON GROUNDS..MAY BE SOME AREAS ARE STILL THERE WHERE THERE ARE VOIDS... POVERTY IS AMONGST THEM..BUT GREAT NATIONS OVERCOME THESE HURDLES AND I AM SURE INDIA AND ALL INDIANS WILL OVERCOME THIS HURDLE TOO...
BEST REGARDS..TO OUR GREAT NATION WHERE I WAS BORN AND WANT TO BE BORN AGAIN..... ..... .....

Sir, army has too many task apart from national security like emergency relief, roit control, etc. And disamble army ? so that any american/chinese/britisher comes again and rules us ? And ask those who participate in republic day parade, what level of enthu, pride and spirit they feel when they particicpate. You seem to be from other side of the border or don't know anything about my country that is India. How irresponsible you are!

republic day, another day that compells us to think where we are.....
by ABHISHEK GUPTA on Jan 27, 2007 05:39 AM

As my subject say so, we people are again vigil enough to look at the position of country on these two or three auspicious days. What happens for rest of the year? Are we too busy for even noticing the mess that is spreading in all our society and even then we expect for higher standard of living. When it has been proved again and again that there is very less that we can hope from our curropt system, how long wil we be looking at them for help. The time has changed and now it is the responsibility of each and every Indian to raise al the burning issues like level and equalisation of education without any reservation, avaialbility of basic needs like water and electricity, employment and many more before our own society. By only singing some patriotic songs can show some of our feelings towards our country but the realisation of those feelings are when stand stongly enough to help people in mitigating the problems.
Hope i make sense.

Lets just say, you are an incredible jerk and a lifelong cynic. You are one of those completely personality less followers who barely manage to amass any self esteem or character ever in their lives. There are problems in India but there is a good side also which you do not find in the western world and I can say this because I am living in the US. But I can not say anything rational to you, can I ? You probably do not even possess even the elementary comprehensive abilities to make sense of simple rational arguments. Since your life is such a waste and since you will never amount to anything and since you will never have respect among the foreigners whom you want to follow so much and from those in India because you are such an incredible fool, why not try suicide as an option. Believe me, you have hardly anything to look forward in life :)...

I somewhat agree with you if you are not an India, but if you are, you are the scum which the Indian society could so very well have done without.

Don't take it personally. I just wanted to hurt the egos of the shitheads and you just happen to be a member of that broad group

Indias prowess
by ssbmat on Jan 27, 2007 04:38 AM  | Hide replies

I see lots of messages in which people take pride in Indias achievements and others deride the parade which they think was for Russian officials benefit. The fact is, that India as we know it, was FORMED in 1947. And the technology that we are so used to, be it the scooter or the Sukhoi Su30, are all WESTERN creations. We have to credit the arrival of the Western powers and British rule for introducing technology-maybe for their own benefit initially, but we have reaped the benefits of western education. Otherwise we would still be in the Middle ages. Because to recall 1857 mutiny, while the princely states were fighting using swords and cannons, the British were communicating using Telegraph to order troop reinforcements. The first train from Mumbai to Thane had ALREADY begun by then.

When you mention the technology that we have gained from the western world, how conveniently did you skip everything that was indigeneous. How about the Indian Nuclear program. How about SLVs and Prithvis and Agnis. How about Tejas and Param. There is nothing wrong with sharing technology. You know what is wrong. Your attitude which makes it seem like India has begged for everything from the western world. Your statements, which give me a feel that you would much rather have lived under British rule for ever. You insult those who died for the freedom and you pronounce judgements on those who are working for its upliftment. Why not rather do something for the country or atleast hold your head high for being an Indian ?

Do you think Israel has not had US help ? China ? Do you think US has not had foreign brain working for her ?

Your statements just seem so amateaurish. You know, someone who has not read a single book on history or Indian weaponry or economics but nevertheless pronounces judgement just because, well, rediff has started allowing anyone to speak anything they like and for god's sake, having an opinion, however misguided, is considered fashionable.

Mere Bhaai, Bharat mahaan ka naara mat lagao sirf..Rupee ki ghati value ko dekho..use uthao. Apno ko bahar na jaane do unhe jobs do. Education ke bal par. What is happening around you, are you aware? Let other countries say it India is worthy of worship. India is known for corruption. We call it brotherhood but others call it foolishness. Whole nation is on the border of falling. Save India. Open your eyes. India needs your enthusiasm to save it notjust to blindly worship it..

What is there to Jai Hind!..where everybody is cheating others, have a feeling of jealousy for one who is succeeding, politics in every office for those who perform good, where to succeed females should get involved and males and they need to bribe to rise up. What a joke India is!

And to top it all, the PM mortgages our Gold and politicians and film stars and businessmen keep white and black money in Swiss Banks. The ordinary man wants to buy only foreign goods and brands and no jobs for highly educated and MF Hussain is busy painting nude paintings of Hindu Goddesses! Killing children and selling their organs and dividing people on caste and religion. Wah bhaai Wah!
