Ahead of the parade, the prime minister, Defence Minister A K Antony and the three Service chiefs laid wreaths at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate where an eternal flame burns in memory of those countless personnel in uniform who laid their lives defending frontiers of the nation.

President Kalam and his Russian counterpart Putin arrived at the Rajpath escorted by President's bodyguards riding impeccably-trained horses.

With unfurling of the tricolour by the President and the playing of national anthem by military bands followed by a customary 21-gun salute, the parade began as Air Force helicopters showered flower petals on the gathering.

I don't agree or disagree with Sanjeev however, I do have problems with the cheerleaders. India is a testosterone driven nation with little or no mutual respect. Instead of snubbing or brushing aside Sanjeev it would have better served the purpose if somebody was bold enough to take up a dialogue and discuss it openly. May be Sanjeev have a point. While putting up the great cultural show may be we should put up real behavior which is snobbish, parochial, insensitive and so impulsive. Wake up nation. Be honest! I love India but not the snubs! Pitty fellow, its not a stunt to display you the snergy.

being their for the nation is the thing we need to do that moment, has the nation takes care of us for rest of the year.

But one thing to concern is that we have to display all our own developed installments. Shall we expect it to happen soon in our 65th r 75th R'day.

agree, all this is fake. when some country attack then these netas think how can they make money in Coffin on soldiers. What is the use of airforce when it was not used in kargil war, china war just because some illeterate sitting in new delhi does not want it. what is the use of giving Param vir chakra, when the family of that brave soldier die because of hunger.

It was parade not any HOLLYWOOD or BOLLYWOOD movie to be youthfull. remember first
Idiot you suppose to be dump in pakistan or Afganistan. Being an INDIAN you must be proud of it. Youthfullness is a asset it must shown in career not in parade.
