Congress is a family run business
by Karunakaran Yendapally on Mar 25, 2004 12:06 AM

I entirely agree with you.Except P.V.Narasimha Rao who was chosen as a compromise candidate no other person even if he is deserving
can become Prime Minister, if congress comes to power.Only the schooldrop-outs from Nehru-Gandhi family can become PMs.Congressmen are like sheep, they are shameless and spineless.People should never vote congress because it was a party which was in the forefront of freedom movement to drive out the foreigner has itself chosen a foreigner as its leader and want to make her PM of India.

The authors opinion is totally biased and one sided.

The authors opinion is totally biased and one sided. He is writing this article without bothering to know how BJP functions. Does he not know that very recently BJP has given loksabha tickets to some very close relatives of their party members like Jaswant Singh's brother, Vijayraje Scindias son etc.

What about Mr.Vajpayee himself participating in admitting Mr.Varun Gandhi to BJP? On what basis was he admitted to the party?

I would request him to do his ground work properly before writing such ridiculous articles.

A well known poet said that " A person should undergo a sea change only through climate and not character"
In my opinion BJP has gone a sea change through character, just look at their manifesto five years back and now. Just ponder over the best bakery case in Gujarat. What is the value of human life? I am sure whosoever is reading this article is housing just one single life. Just think and be honest!! The development that BJP is talking about is the result of Mr. Manmohan Singhs policies of liberalisation when FII's were invited to India.

Politics of inheritance
by Sridhar on Mar 24, 2004 11:14 PM

You are absolutely right. But as was the saga of the history, where Rajas and Maharaja's are the from same dynasty is current politics. Don't just talk about politics it's the same with Movies, Business where not. It's a shame that those who vouched for abolishment of "Kingdoms" (Rajabharanas) - the none other than Indira Gandhi - and her family is in the forefront of this. God only save this country.

Wow Congress!!!
by Ramesh. on Mar 24, 2004 11:06 PM

Keep it up Congress. Now we have another "leader" from Congress and there are obvious reasons for the congress workers to celebrate. For there is no other leader/president who is able, charismatic and one who has served the party from the grassroot levels.

SPINELESS CONGRESS LEADERS - GROW UP PLEASE.

And for others, In the years to come please look forward to have a Columbian born naturalized Indian citizen prime-ministrial candidate with 'Gandhi'(qualifier) tag with her name. why not - as she is our beloved Bahu. Also in the fray would be Priyanka's daughter/Son or her grandchildren or Rahul's grandchildren.

Millions of Congress members yet no leaders.

Congress party belongs to only one family. And they are happy about it. SHAME on you Congress.

Family party in Politics
by PNSMani on Mar 24, 2004 06:45 PM

It is most unfortunate that we tend to bend and bow before the progeny of ex PMs and MPs; perhaps it is a remnant of our centuries of slavery that we have total servility in our veins ! While private business do groom heirs from family, in politics there is no place for it; if I retire as Boss of big firm, do they consider my son/dtr as replacement even if he is well qualified. NO, never; he has to take the test with others and come up the hard way to establish him/herself. Why this gulami attitude? The Nehru family seems bent upon it; strictly it is not even that family, for ours roots are reckoned from paternal lineage; why this distinction; pure opportunism, playing fool with the masses. The name Gandhi strikes a chord with poor illiterates; they do not know the Mahatma was different and his wards are nowhere in the field; the usurped title replacing Ghandy is doing the trick; pity indeed. Indira got rid of Maharajahs and another kind of dynastic succession now perpetuated; old system could have continued for better results; let us be awake and ensure proper credentials for anyone is there before he/she can enter politics, not mere family history; God bless India, I pray much.
