Nepotism and family owned business

I was surprised by Diwanji's article. Asian Paints was day one at IIM - Calcutta for a few years and deservedly so. It is a superlative company owned & run by professionals who happen to belong to the key shareholder families. There are some of the best alumni of IIM serving the Company since they joined it a few decades ago, though it's not necessarily the highest on the rewards and compensation. The point here is that there is nothing wrong in being run by key shareholders so long as they are best equipped to run it and keep it on course and without breaking it up into a thousand pieces for predators to prey on.

Why should a Sachin Pilot or a Jyotirdaditya or Milind Deora be deprived of a role ONLY because he is somebody's son and that somebody could have given him valuable insights on judging human character, rendering selfless service (the stuff they dont teach at IIM unfortunately)and being humane, traits necessary for a successful politician anywhere.
We have seen the sordid spectacle of unbridled ambition for the top job and the impact on Governments, do we need such ambition? Can selfless political service be possible only if top job is within reach & with big bucks?
