Navroze Mody (cont'd)

And he was not walking to "catch a train in Hoboken" because he had just left the River Street Cafe in Hoboken and he lived in Jersey City.

But you did spell his name correctly.

Navroze Mody
by David Baker on May 29, 2005 12:35 PM

I knew Navroze Mody. And I followed his murder trial both at the courthouse and in the media.

He was Zoroastrian. He was murdered by a group of ten to twelve Puerto Ricans. The four who were found guilty at trial had the surnames of Gonzalez, Padila and Avila.

At the time, he was walking with a white friend who worked with him at Citicorp in Manhattan, when they were both accosted.

Therefore, the victim was not ethnically Indian. He was of Persian descent.

And he was not Hindu or Sikh. He was Zoroastrian.

And his murderers were not "white racists," they were Hispanic.

Therefore, contrary to all media speculation at the beginning (especially in a horrid New York Times article about an apocryphal "dot busters" gang of whites in the Jersey City area that started the lie about a racist component to the murder), he was lighter skinned than his murderers. Not darker.

And they did not shout "Dot-head" but rather "Kojak." That was because Mr. Mody was bald from a condition known as alopecia. (Again, they had no way of knowing that his family had emigrated from India, because he did not look Indian, and man he was with is of European descent.)

crass and crude

The articles by Mr.Srinivasan seem to prove only one point. He is a fanatic who is out there to prove his point and that his point is the only correct one. I find it ridiculous that Rediff choses to publish such articles but rediff does have a Hindu nationalistic streak attached to it anyhow.
\"The Muslims have their poster boy, the fellow whose image, allegedly begging for his life, was flashed around the world.\"
Poster boy!! Not the choiciest of words Rajeev. A man who is running away from a Hindu nationalistic group set out with government support to kill, rape, massacre or do whatever they want to do with people belonging to a minority community somehow does not exactly seem to be my idea of a Poster boy.
Verbal dexterity, mastery of the language or the fact that you might be well read does not change the fact that you remain at heart as fiendish as any of the villains you mention in your articles.
Somehow you seem to seek refuge in The land of the free after all where as you say Hindu rights are not respected. I dont see you living in Gujarat or wherever it is you find people with a heart of gold and soul of silver(people like you will almost believe in anything).

Even thiogh i already beleive what u say in ur article, i must thank u for stating it, because it is heartening to know that there are other people in this country yet who think like this. What with the crowds od pseudo-secular sub-human beings devouring the reality, your article has come as a releif to my soul. Therefore, I would again like to say, thank you RS, keep up the good work.
