Mr Advani, are you reading this?
by Shivajirao Pratap on Jun 14, 2003 02:16 AM

Dear Sir,
This writer Mr Guruswamy writes as if to show that India's security both internal and external have weekened after the NDA got into power.More than 60000, people have bben killed in Jammu Kashmir in the last 50 years and he has no guts to mention that.
He talks of losing 100 kms loss of Indian territory by the NDA, where has he forgets how much India has lost because of the Cancer of Nehru dynasty. 50, 000 sq miles in NePHA, Pakistan, Now Bangladesh all thanks to Gandhi-nehrus deadly combined work.Thousands visit the parliament every day and the security took care of all the terrorists in less than one hour! give them credit for heaven sake.
The security was super when Indira Gandhi was assssinated? security was great when Rajiv gandhi was assssinated? security was ok when Mahatma Gandhi was assssinated? common mr Swamiji, you can not write one sided biased articles.Tell the truth and nothing but the truth even if it gets you in trouble.
That is true journalism May god give you 20-15 vision if not 20-20.

Mr Advani, are you reading this? Southern Economic Union
by Sunil K on Jun 14, 2003 01:50 AM

I see very few writers having some conclusions or remedy for the subject they bring to light. Especially with Guruswamy - I don't remember seeing any.
Mr Guruswamy, why don't you concentrate on saying "Learn the path of progress from those who are doing"...
Even after 50years of Independence with such vast resources, India is not able to be one of Top 10 economies. If some states try to get its people something more by forming some kind of co-operation by comming together then that means going out of Indian Union!!! Why can't you tell Modi/Maya/Mulayam to learn what is governance from those who are doing it??? Don't you think it's shame on us to have "atleast" one communal riots a year??? If that is the case, then whats the difference between Somalia/Pakistan and India??? Should the whole India pay for those 3M's hunger for power???
Guruswamy - Governance means doing/bringing good to people.
Guruswamy do u expect southern states to pay for the ENRON deal that NDA signed for the whole India??? Who got the fruits from it???
Why don't you ask Northern Indian Citizens to pay tax or buy railway tickets instead of making it a free trip everytime they travel???

Mr.Advani's Real Interests
by ishaq on Jun 14, 2003 12:53 AM

It doesnt sound strange to me when mr advani declares now that india cannot be a hindu state.frankly speaking he never had such idea and only he gave the public few strong headed people the idea that india can become one!after being at the helm of indian politiccs for years he wanted to try an experiment of hinduvta for power and which he never meant it.luckily it clicked and now the job at his hand was to control the stupid thoughts of sangh pariwar from becoming wild and on another hand he had the task of carrying on that euphoric thinking in them to the minimum extent possible so that it can be rekindled anytime to suit his intentions.thus nothing has come off so far on the fronts of ram janma bhoomi, krishna janma bhoomi etc i asked few of my learned hindu friends as to where is sita janma bhoomi and lakshmana janmabhoomi but they were simply not sure!they were of some idea that they had dropped from nowhere to complete the existence of rama.and they were also wondering if anybody new ravana janmabhoomi!surely its not pakistan making a legal excuse for mr.advani to go for war and destroy it!america wont accept it!ok coming to main points mr advanis intentions and dreams

I oppose Mohan Guruswamy Sir's views
by Srikanth on Jun 14, 2003 12:48 AM

I think the author retracts his own words, first saying that there were cross-border terrorism and suddenly says at the last india not been to terrorism. I think the author must realise that when we fight woúnds and deaths do happen. Congress never used to fight or take measures so there were not so many deaths.
Just count what the Congress has done in the last 50 years of regime,, Nothing. Yes, really nothing it has aggrevated wounds and never tried to solve any major problems.
The BJP is trying to solve it, Mistakes do happen. BJP learns from mistakes very fast unlike congress. The recent Bild-up of army at the border exposed the failure of the Indian army and highly tested the army capabilities. I bet the next time BJP is going to look into and upgrade the Army capabilities.

I think further that the Southern Union Association has nothing to do with spiltting India or any sort. I remember a joke .
" One Hindhi speaking says to a tamilian after Rajiv Gandhi was assacinated that "You people killed Rajiv". The Tamilian quicky quips "But you north people killed Indira".
Even its wrong on the author to think of north or south India, Grow up Guruswamy Sir.

South belt huh?
by V on Jun 14, 2003 12:14 AM

Didn't the hindi speaking states get together to rule over/ show raw power over non-hindu speaking states and also tried to force hindi on them??? Guess it hurts when you are asked to eat your own medicine!!! BIMARU states were unnecessarily and selfishly riding over the non-hindi states (for whatever useless population statistics they are worth!!!) for the past 50 years. Now it is only justified if it takes the back seat and let these states take the lead and rule them for the next 50 years !!! This has to happen if you do not want to see resentment building and leading to secession. YES you have to take back what you give out.

Worth a thought
by Sangeeta on Jun 14, 2003 12:05 AM

Mr Guruswamy,

I am sure being the advisor to the a finance minister does remove all the doubt over the authenticity of the facts you have published in this article. I also appreciate the well-wordedness of the article.
the initial part of the article discussing the intrusion of a charecter from our rival state only shows that we have holes in our security and they need to be patched. It may be considered as an accident whoch happened out of oversight - or as a more potentially dangerous question arises from here. How many more of such accidents have happened and gone undetected?

I am sure that we have a very competent army which will be able to handle this situation without much hassel.

The next issue, yes our current government has successfully controlled the facts, and reveal only what they wish the people to know. They have also been able to move the masses on the basis of relegious belief and testing nuclear bombs and missiles.

Therefore, the issue is not how the stop the separation of the southern states, but how to stop the separation of the Indian people. That should be put in focus.

Regards
- San
