the last two scenes of the movie reminded me of Acapulco in Mexico where people do cliff diving for eternity and next scene Hrithik & Mori touched each other hand reminded me of ET. Looking forward for Sequel “Return of cometa”
I never get into this stuff. But Kites was such a sham that I had to vent my feelings. It presumes that without a story lines by shooting abroad, getting a 'firang', burning cars, showing Rithik shirtless and focussing on his eyes, and flat abdomen and with media hype along with Reliance you can sell any 'crap'. It presumes that people wont be able to see through. Only if you like Rithik shirtless irrespective of your gender and cant resist then go fo it. If you know what good movies are all about then this one is a plain simple crap and insulting to the audience IQ
Awesome movie, shows the spirit of ordinary Indian who wants to live life to the fullest, with love in his heart, ready to face all odds, to be with his love ...in life and in death,...soulful watch. Recommended for all... movie at the box office will do better by every passing day and will be highest earner among bollywood movies of all time. >>>>>...But in India it will not do well because of subtitles and also as Spanish language is not translated into Hindi
Now I can’t stop myself writing something more about this movie. Pls do read full & give comments as its the first time i am posting a review of any movie on FB. Lastly I wrote music review for ishqiya on orkut. First of all let me tell you clearly that I am not a fan of Hrithik or anyone except SRK. I just like their good work. And after Koi Mil Gaya & Jodha Akbar, this is the 3rd time I liked his work.This is one of the most discussed movies of recent times. This is type of movie people just can’t ignore. Either they’ll love or love to hate. But in both the cases the movie is going to be loved by all. Let me tell you why.. I went to the theatre with ZERO expectations as I had already heard so much negative about it. But at the end of the movie, I was not disappointed at all. Believe me it is worthy. I think the director was either too much sure of what he is going to do or he was damn confused.. caus it needs a lot of courage to make a movie like this but definitely there are some flaws without them it would have been an excellent movie. You might have seen & liked DON, Dhoom2 type of movies.. All these movies are extremely different in terms of the story but the director has given the similar stylish treatment to this very serious Love Story which has never been seen in bollywood movies.

Talking about performance of actors, everyone has justice to their character. While the lead pair Hrithik, Barbara have excelled. Kangna is in a very small role.. I am unable to understand why she has done this movie. There was nothing for her to do. She even doesn’t have so many dialogues.
Why watch? I have 5 reasons.
1. For Hrithik whether you are his fan or not, you should watch it for his very different performance and to understand his talent of international level. 2. If you are lover of love stories and want to see something new 3. Great dance number.. (perhaps the best ever dance in any Indian movie).. Music is really good and flows with the script. Good lyrics 4. Very good picturisation .. (perhaps beyond the excellence) 5. Last but not the least… its very new style of presentation.. Trust me you might have never seen a typical love story with such a stylish way
Why not watch? 2 reason: 1. If you want to see similar type of movies.. don’t watch Kites. You will be disappointed 2. Another major reason is the language and most people in our country (the masses) are not used to watch movies reading the sub titles.

The collections of Kites came down heavily on Monday. This was expected as the film has been rejected by the public.
The four day nett business is around 33 crore nett. This includes paid previews. The first week will struggle to touch 40 crore nett and is likely to finish around the 39 crore nett mark.
Overall the film is likely to have 21.50 crore plus distributor share in week one but may not even touch 25 crore in its lifetime business which would mean flop Indian theatrical business for Kites.
Hritik and Barbara both met in a first scene in a movie like 30 feet below water...but both drowned in the sea...hard to digest...just like the whole movie!
