much of the slow-motion scenes and some songs (only 2 are there in hindi that too in background) are removed in the english version of the movie which will make it a good thriller and thats wat was lacking in HINDI...Moreover the end was pathetic and no indian audience wuld want the hero to die...
KITES FAILED TO convince the audience...the story was not that bad..
Most bollywood dont have a story and dont make any sense, so no point in criticising this moving if it lacks in these areas. The only that matters is, is it entertaining enough??
I watched the movie yesterday and with so many negative reviews am bit apprehensive about watching the movie shelling out so much from my pocket. But believe me it is worthy. Yes it is am saying again and it needs a lot of courage to make a movie like this but definitely there are some glitches without them it would have been a cult movie. Firstly, hats of Anurag & Hrithik. Time & again Hrithik proves that he is an actor of immense talent and has a different class of his own. The movie starts very promisingly and the first half is pretty good which keeps you guessing about the second half. But certain scenes in post interval can be chopped off specifically, the police & cow boys encounters, hrithik & barbara fooling the police & escape into a giant balloon & the songs. Without these few glitches it would have been an awesome movie. Now having so much positive reviews from the international media, the film promises a lot but desi media gives a thumbs down very surprisingly. The primary reason is due to the style of presentation which is very unique is nature and highly appreciable. But since our ppl are not used to this they might have lost in keeping themselves in sync with the pace and got confused. Another major reason is the language and most ppl in our country (the masses) are not used to watch movies reading the sub titles and hence so much negative WOM. However, the movie is definitely worth a watch

Without watching the movie pls don't give your comments. Kites will be a hit definitely as it is accepted in internationally and would definitely become a super hit if the beloved ppl in our country learns to appreciate creativity & STOP bad mouthing without even looking at it. Such a pain!!! So guys don't go by reviews watch it on your own and have the wonderful experience

It seems that u grow up watching abusive stuff all around you & hence don't know how to address someone and lacks basic decency. It's absolutely ur personal view abt the movie and nobody has forced u to watch the movie and so stop bad mouthing and change urself for good in future.
Kites is a poor movie and its like watching a cheap C grade movie. Not expected such a horrible movie from the director of amazing gangster. Main problem with kites is a poor screen play and its story. There is no major twist in the movie and feels too long for even two hours running time. Characters come and go like a bullets fired one after another. Central characters Hrithik and Barbara is the only saving grace of the film. Hrithik was brilliant. He goes deep in to the character of J and enactes it like only he can. Its not a hindi movie by any means. Characters speak minimum hindi and English is overused with unusual twange. Kites was a overlyhyped movie and doesnot even come near to the hype created. It’s a boring experience overall with no entertainment value to it. Its sure biggest ever flops of Hrithik Roshan.

U r right the movie even though was for 2 hrs it felt it like a 5 hour movie it was plain totrture

i have never seen so many comments about any movie this proves that it is a great movie A movie like KITES is made in decades it needs courage to make a film out of mainstream and masal film. picturization of every frame is beyond excellence. hritik is superb as usual. barbara is beautiful. even when you tame a bird or any animal you develop emotions with them this film shows love is beyond language and country thanks to rakesh roshan anurag basu who thinks beyond masala films.

There are so many comments because 1. there was so much HYPE about the movie 2. There is no other movie right now which is either good or had so much hype 3. most of the students are free because of summer vacation.
The no. of comments is by no means an indication of greatness
